Cat 5 cable over 100 meters

rofl - too bad it looked too offensive to the mods, had to delete it :P

Although i dont see a reason why it was so offensive in the first case, many people post sex jokes in the joker's club. The signature wasnt about how anal sex was performed, just a metaphor. Or was it just one mod who doesnt seem to appreciate humor ?

it's more in the range of 2-3 ms..
I get pings ranging between 1-4 ms between my machine (s) and my router depending on my location inside the house....

Also

It's definitely not because of that..RF travels at ~ c
It's mostly due to the overheads involved in WEP encryption/decryption
If you ping a thousand times, atleast 10-15 times, you'll see that the latencies rise to maybe 15ms or at times even worse. Thats what gamers hate :P.

err another costly but lowest latency u'll get for sure...
nuy the cheapest "yellow color :P" optical fibre its very thin .. and buy 2 small media converters.
plug the optical cables in the media converters on two ends and u have the required lan rj 45 output from the media converters if ur lancard dont support direct optical input..xD.
i'ce done it and its the best period :P.

Wireless will cause Loss as well. Plus 15ms to your own router is stupid.

I get 8ms to V-Street servers :P. Below 1ms until it leaves my network.

Imagine how i would feel if i got even 2ms within my network?

Exactly the reason why my gaming comp is connected to the router by plain jane cat 5e :P.

^^ how much does the optic fibre with media converters cost ? give the price of the cable in Rs/ mt or foot

A pair of media converters should retail at 5-6k. However, I am not very sure about the OFC as we only use the 24F outdoor cable. I guess the 2F indoor cable may cost around 6-10 Rs./Mtr.
