there are few people who purely exist on TE because of market section & thats what they registered TE for, if checked their threads one can clearly see that none of the items they sell belongs to them, always selling on behalf of someone for pure commission purpose & they are the ones who use this kind of sick trick.kuld33p said:

As long as the member has the product with him at the time of posting the sale thread and he owns the responsibility of the sale - transfer of funds, shipping the goods etc I see no problems in it. Of course, posting the snaps isn't the big deal - anyone can take the snap with any user ID and post it.

Thats my point itself. Bikey is the most i have seen with most proxy sales, i might have not seen any others that much. my case. he is a 100%.
so was asking @malhat who was the others that do proxy for commission. I remember him saying this before also.

i report them to mods i even spoke to some but unfortunately nothing can be done.
i try not to deal with such people.. i would encourage you all to waste their time with hoping to deal with them and by backing out at the last moment.

I don't sell stuff and disappear and/or put up my hands when some issue arises saying "it was my friend's" or "contact so and so person/number" etc..m-jeri said:

I test everything i put up for sale by using it at least for some days before i put it up for sale.
Products that are sold are guaranteed for no issues and a personal testing warranty of some days, as applicable, is provided to all buyers irrespective of the manuf/distro warranty available.
I keep the seller and buyer isolated from all the hassles of the deal.
I assume full responsibility for all i sell on behalf of my friends, even at much later dates, refunding money from my own pocket if need be.
I don't charge a single paisa to buyer/seller- seller gets whatever buyer pays.
Does that even remotely sound proxy to you?

1) i do know 2 people contacting me to buy something on market section that i had put up & referred me bikey's name & then i did agree to reduce the price, but then the products were sold to else.
2) i had brought a product from a TE member which was put up on his friends behalf, deal was finalized & i was promised that before the dealing i can speak to the original seller, instead i was given the assurance that i would get chance after some time as the later was out of town, i believed the seller & completed the deal & till today i never got to speak to the original seller, this shows that that was for pure commission.
3) i have had dealing with bikey before & still do, but technically i should not call it a dealing, what i get from him is help & which i appreciate it a lot & not only me, there are others who would agree with me on this.
@ mods, i think that most of them know what this thread is all about & the message has been conveyed, i would highly request to close this thread before it gets dirty.

A couple of quick things.
I do ask for Bikey's help in selling stuff as the chances of something selling in Mumbai are about 1,000x that of something selling in Calcutta. However, the stuff is always in his possession, tested and can be inspected at his residence. The invoice is in my name, but that's about it. That is not a proxy sale.
I also ensure the stuff is in superlative condition and the only reason I do this is because it's impossible to ship electronic and computer goods, so I amass a few things and send it over in one lot when a friend/associate travels. I also do it because he is a great guy who stands by what he sells and buys, and he always has the stuff for sale with him, and is keenly aware of current hardware prices and is in a position to offer the best deal to both buyers and sellers. Also, he is not really capable of personal attacks like other people who are taking side swipes in this thread, and not in it to make a buck for himself.
I did not understand the intent of this thread till earlier today, it seems an unscrupulous member had a discussion with Bikey and misused the information and advice given to him to demand a higher price for his product, using Bikey's advice as a crutch to prop up the seemingly extreme high price. It would have been better if this was stated in the first post to avoid confusion and sidetracking.
However, it now seems to be moving into another thread where people with personal agendas are bringing up their own personal and petty issues to point fingers at the thread starter.

cranky baba, the last para is also irrelevant & just like you said get out (i do not know to whom) i would say, delete that last para & why are you getting so defensive for bikey because no one is against him i guess, people are just clearing the doubts & yes names can be mentioned here, but then this will get more dirty & everyone knows that.

But the point is that its not essentially a bad thing. As long as the person is taking full responsibility for the sale and ensures that the other party has a smooth sale, its perfectly alright to proxy for someone else. I don't think there is any TE rule against that either. What's not allowed is acting as proxy for a dealer so that the can bypass the dealer section rules or the need for being a registered dealer on TE.

One more case has come up recently.
I have received feedback recently that an old acquaintance has used my name, to maybe influence the seller into seling his goods for lesser maybe.
I have been informed that my name was brought up atleast twice during the several interactions between the buyer and seller.
Fact is, i have not interacted with this person(buyer) for many months now or even more than a year easily or more,
There is no way i could have said the things to him.
I have been away from TE for sometime, only comingt o bump up some pending sale threads once in a while.
I didn't even know that such a deal was happening between the 2 people in this matter, who mostly know about me only as much as any other person on TE does.
I am checking this matter and will gather more information as and when i get some free time.
Will also consult the mods on what can be done about this.
