Well, lemme just start by saying tht I wanted to play bf2 so I kept the cd in the drive and then closed the tray, tht's when I heard a loud sound like a car's engine or a lawn mower coming from the drive..fearing tht the cd would be cracked I quickly took the cd out, only to find tht it was scratched a little(even after maintaining it for a while,it finally had to happen).I then took an empty disc and kept it in the drive..nothing happened..it was working normally..no sound..nothing...I then kept the 2nd bf2 disc and stil nothing happened, but when I kept the bf2 disc 1..the loud sound happened again...and I was scared again tht I took out the cd.

Can someone tell me wht's going on?

Is this the end of bf2 for me:'(

I kept the bf2 disc 2 and nothing happened,it was working normally but when I keep the disc 1,those loud sounds happen as if the cd is gonna break.

EDIT:Funny,In win2k,no sounds are coming when I play the bf2 disc 1 but the sounds come only in XP...I'll try again.

If you see this problem only on Windows XP, its possible that your drive needs a firmware upgrade, or maybe just a simple reinstall of IDE drivers will help.....
