Hello There,

Is any one of you using CD Walkman with AM/FM Radio.

I plan to buy one but want to keep budget to just 1k - 1.5k (preferabel to1k)
it should be nice in working with less maintainace:)

*Moved To Portable Zone*

And yea, i think at 1k, you will get a local or a grey market piece, which may or maynot have good quality. Unless you are interested in second hand good quality one, i suggest u increase ur Budget;)

Sorry for dumbo,

But what is Skip Protection stands for???????:S

The lasers on those cheapo cd mp3 players doesn't last too long....

If ur really keen on a cheap mp3 player, get one of those chinese solid state 256mb mp3 players....they'll last you long enuff....and most also have a FM radio

suppose you're going on a highway and u come across a bump. without skip protection, the song skips a bit....with protection, the song keeps on playing irrespective of the bumps...

basically skip-protection enabled players have a small amount of random-access memory inbuilt...the drive reads ahead the song and dumps it in the memory....When the player encounters a mild bump/shock/shake, the laser can't read the disc properly, in which case cached data is processed by the player...

its the cached data which is always processed(bump or no bump)

also i really had bad experiences with those cheap mp3 cd players, you play them in your car & you will know there skip protection is a joke.

unless you are going for panasonic or sony cd mp3 players(cost 5k), my advise is to not to go for them, if you have a on the move kinda usage.

mangesh what is ur need walkman for tapes, cd walkman for mp3 cds or you want to go for portable(solid-state, best skip protection) mp3 players for ex(256 mb, 512 mb etc)

I have a Panasonic MP3 ACD Player without FM/AM.
Gifted by a relative.

Though it was bought from Korea...

Will check and post a link to it here soon.

in that case go for any portable usb 256mb mp3 player(no am, only fm), only limitation would be no of songs you can store & quality of songs.

there many chinese brands which you can get for under 2k, just check out its quality & use good pair of earphones(the one's with player usually suck)

go to your local hardware market, & check them out !!!

see, since u are going to use ur cd walkman on a bus/and jogging then it is better that u get frm a good brand.

I myself have dne 511 and I am more then satisfied with sound quality, skip protection and batt life. But it does not have FM.
I guess the one with fm costs around 4k

do chck out the sony ones.

however if u do not need the mp3 playback but just audio cd's and fm then consider the D-FJ003

Hey Guys,

What I found with Amazon is not exactly what Sony India offered to Indian Mkt.

Sony-D-FJ003 CD Walkman with Am/FM is totally diffrence with Amazon while compate to with Indian Mkt.

With Amazon it cost only ($38) Rs=1748, but here in India Diffrenet Model with Same Model Number sold for Rs=3500 or more..

Amazing ????????????????//
