You didnt get it. I said if theres a gap of 40 runs, then the team thats ahead wins.

Also there are many matches that are decided early even in the proper 50over matches. So if a match is decided and stopped after first innings because one team got totally outplayed then so be it. Thats the way it goes.

Australia tour of South Africa, Final 5th Odi (series was 2-2), Wanderers, Johannesburg.

Australia bats first and posts a total of 434.

Guess who won this match.
Also, nobody/nothing can "kill" 50-50 cricket if they haven't been able to kill Tests yet. Sure hardly anybody with responsibilities sits down to watch a complete match but 50-50 is the most mainstream form of cricket. 20-20 is just a craze and its all about batting, it'll never replace anything.

if no one watches it , then it will go away , you can see the dwindling crowds in the stadiums and lack of awarness even here in TE :P

India doesn't have a chance to win the trophy after yuvi's injury
But i hope atleast they win against the Pakistanis and keep their winning record intact against them in ICC trophies
 
Actually this is perfect platform for likes of Raina to finally come out of the shadows of big guns.

Everyone who has seen him knows he can do much more than he has till now. I hope he grabs this opportunity.

And I really hope Nayar gets the chance to play ( he probably wont get chance today). He has done very well in both IPLs and also in Ranji last season.
 
T50 is rather a buffer between the Test Matches and your new pyjama T20 stuff.

If Tests have held onto their own, then 50-50 should be able to do so as well.

50 over match does tests out not only the brute force of a side but the shrewdness as well. That format allows the leg room for the pendulum to swing back n forth keeping the interest of the game and its unpredictability alive.

But honestly, the only real charm for me is that Sachin shd reach 50 ODI centuries (knock on the wood.)

After that they can shut that format out for good or better chop and churn it so badly that none of the other players be able to reach that landmark. :devil:

Atleast nobody from Sachin's fan club will loose sleep over that record then.

RP, nehra, ishant in. These 3 better get it right. They were rubbish in Sri Lanka. And Ishant in an interview said he is practising short balling ( He is getting murdered by balling it short and he is practising it???? Jeez. )

Gauti's on a ROLL baby!! That 6 off the free hit from Gul, holy ****.

All he and Dravid have to do is build a huge partnership. They are well within the RRR. We got plenty of batting still to come from Dhoni, Yusuf, Kohli, Raina and even Bhajji but we can't do it without a big partnership.
