Whatever will Pakistan do without India..??

Seems like 90% of the time they keep plotting India's downfall.

Idiots shd meet Aussie in finals and think that they ll get a cakewalk there as well.

Anyways, good thing India got chucked out.

Never deserved any place in the final four.

Can't say much because of the mods here..but...Pakistan..they only greatest happiness is India's downfall. Pretty sad when you think about it.

err, no. what's pretty sad is that india was depending on the result of another game to decide whether it would qualify.

the 'pre tournament favourites' who were also the 'top ranked team in the world' failed to make it past the first round . they're just a bunch of overpaid jokers :bleh:

wow you guys really hoped pakistan will win it for india :P .... they did give you a faint ray of hope then crushed it , who would have imagined that

Even though my first love is cricket, I am saying this out of sheer disappointment, that the highest paid, highly loved "cricketers" are actually a bunch of imbeciles. What happened to them? The fact that they were momentarily the best team in the world got to their heads, and they must have said to each other, "How can that be? We cannot be the best, lets just throw it away!"

Another ICC event gone by with India being knocked out in the league stages. How many more will we see? I think there will be more, because our young cricketers haven't yet learned to handle the pressure. More often than not, they fail in high pressure matches. It is only when they have stalwarts like Sachin scoring centuries at the top, are they remotely comfortable with the idea of victory. Rest of the times, they just FAIL!

To be number one, to be called the best, doesn't encompass losing matches on a regular basis. Losses are a part of the game and are bound to happen. It is the consistent run of wins that matters. To get to number two and maintaining that position for well over a year is no doubt a commendable effort. But when will that number 2 be converted to number 1? I think never. Our players are just not mentally fit to accept that they can be the best. They are content with being second best.

The Pak Aus game was good. I honestly don't think Pak threw the game away. They tried their best to make a match out of their low score. I was impressed by some awesome bowling towards the death by Pak players like Naved ul Hasan and Ajmal. Great show.

Both teams tried best to throw the game away

Rofl.

But it doesn't seem fair for India though. India just lost 1 game. Its silly really. South Africa, Sri Lanka etc needed 2 losses to be eliminated.

the rules are the same for everyone, so how can you say it's not fair? you could perhaps say that it's unfortunate that it rained, but let's be honest, india was getting thumped in that match as well. and it was the same case for australia. the difference being, australia actually won 2 matches along with pakistan. india could win only 1.

I feel, with the current bowling strength that India has, they did not deserve to be in the semis. If Ashish Nehra, who is making a comeback after 3-4 years is your best bowler, it does not give a good impression.

Noone following semis?

This tournament is the first time I am seeing Umar Akmal on TV, and I see a future star of world cricket in him. If he stays injury free, I can see him in record books few years down the line. Perfect technique, perfect mix of attack and defence.

I know its too early, but he has potential to be next one in the league of Ponting and Tendulkar.

@^^

Provided he doesn't fall prey to petty politics and injuries. I agree with you, he does look like a compact yet adventurous batsman. Some of his strokes are of world class quality.

Both Aamir and Umar Akmal are future Paki super stars. NZ is putting up a decent fight here against Pak bowling though but it probably won't last long.

This is the odi for all those who say 50-50's are predictable :P

Well played NZ, great Captaincy by Vettori and anchoring by Elliot.

They have a pretty decent bowling attack. Butler bowled well. They also have the in-form vettori and James Franklin with the bat. Franklin was not out on a century over-night in a county match. when he was asked to board the flight to SA. Eventhough their batting is fragile they can pull off an upset. This is the 2nd instance they have reached a final in a ICC event. last time they reached it in 2000 CT and we lost to them.:( It was Cairns's brilliant century that helped them chase India's 265. Hope they maintain their 100% win record in ICC finals :) (they have reached semi-finals 8 times!!!!) Hope this match revives the Trans-Tasmaninan rivalry. (Hoping Bond will run through the Aussie batting line-up but i know its highly unlikely :( )

Jst goes to show that a team with good bowling line up can go up to the semis.

And here we got a team which contemplates on going in with 6-7 spl batsman,

where already names like Sachin, Yuvraj and Gambhir and Dhoni exist.
