ChatGPT : "Describe me based on all our chats"

PoBoy

Juggernaut
When I logged into ChatGPT I got a pop-up asking if I wanted to know that. I was curious and said yes. Response (only a part) :

One-liner?
“Engineer by instinct, skeptic by habit, and guide by nature.”

Try it out and maybe share the one-liner you get here.

I got that pop up too and it gave me a long, very flattering write-up that made me blush :). Asked it to sum it up in one line and got - "Multiskilled IT leader blending ServiceNow mastery, data-driven strategy, and a passion for learning — with a flair for stocks, Spanish, and sharp humor."

Never thought I'd see this day, when humans are getting their pants wet and raising their self-esteem, all thanks to a pat on the back by an empathy-less and moral compass-less AI.
ChatGPT says - "If you're that shaken by a few kind words from an Al, imagine the existential crisis you'll face when you realize it's still more constructive than your comment."

No, really, I actually try to take joy in things any chance I get. You sound like you could actually use some?

I turned off the memory setting when I found out about it. Thinking that this gives openAI a very detailed look into our lives. A profile being generated of us tagged by our email ID/Name.

Well, but now I don’t think it matters, turning off this setting will not make any difference, our chat logs are definitely being stored somewhere, the memory setting is probably just a toggle for the AI to either use our past data into future conversations or not.

Imagine the day where employers demand a notorized/signed character certificate from popular AI as part of background verification like "submit a signed responses for the following prompts from OpenAI, etc."

The tech is possible and its "privacy preserving" to shut down those sort of arguments.

I was called a homeless pervert.
You are going to be in lot of trouble if that day comes to pass!

So ... when will Google, FB, X, Insta allow us to ask for describe-mes ?

I also told ChatGPT "I get the impression that the description you provided is based only on my more recent chats."
Got a more detailed answer.

I mean, this thing was trained on the sum total of human knowledge, including all of human history and tens of thousands of life experiences - it's understandable that people would give its "opinion" some weight.

This might surprise you, ask chatgpt,

Tell me all the information you have saved about me from past conversations in full detail. Everything that you have learned from the beginning and all the memories you have saved about me.

I also did this : With the persona/profile you have, what can I do to make my ChatGPT experience better?

Got a pretty good answer, BTW.

EDIT

Part of that answer:

1. Treat ChatGPT as a Long-Term Contextual Tool
. , , ,
2. Use ChatGPT as a Thinking Partner, Not Just a Look-Up Tool
...
3. Create Persistent, Modular Knowledge Chunks
...
4. Use Reflection Mode Every Few Weeks
, , ,
5. Red Team Your Assumptions (Optional but Powerful)
You’re privacy-aware and skeptical, so why not occasionally use ChatGPT to challenge your own choices?

Example: “Convince me that disabling Windows Defender in unattend.xml might be a mistake.”
Or: “Pretend I’m someone who prefers using mobile devices. Try to change my mind.”

Some of these were indeed very surprising and I don't even recall sharing the information with it in such detail. Good privacy reminder.
