Month end is here, and its salary time, finally will go buy the stuff if I can convince it sounds right.

I was planning to get the e7400(6.2k techshop.in). Which is a good cheap motherboard to go with this that will OC it well? considering I'm a first time OCer, ease of use would also matter(gui et all). Intension is to OC as high as I can staying stable. 3.6ghz atleast?

Don't say G31M-S2L. That was what I had in mind, but it seems too low end. I don't wanna limit myself. I'm going to be running 4gbs of (hopefully) g.skill piblacks, which also probably OCed(if I can manage it) and a 4850+ card.

Other board I considered was the biostar tpi45, but thats for 7.5k right? Might as well spend another grand get the EP45-UD3P. But then that's not too cheap is it? :P

Is there a 4-5k board, that OCs C2Ds, ram really well(asus, msi) that I don't know about. I will be getting true or sccf as soon as its available.

Another question:

Would a VX450 pull 6 * 120mm(one cpu) fans, 4870 1gb, sound card, 3 HDDs, 1 DVDrom and a fan controller for those fans.

Might add one more gpu later some time. Is it worth investing more on the psu now to be crossfire/sli ready or should I sell this off when I go multi-gpu and get something new at that time?

Another thing is, the very low end mobos have low end onboard audio. I do a decent bit of recording, mic or guitar through line in. I'd like something that would do a decent job till I can afford to get an m-audio.

I am also thinking of buying the P31 board. My plan is the same as yours. E7400 + 4GB PI Blacks.

I was initially looking at TP45HP, but then I thought to myself .. do I really need crossfire support? ( I am rethinking this again .. aaaarrrgghh :x )

The 4GB limitation is the only thing I don't like about this.

EDIT:

Just found this one:

Buy Palit P35A- online in India

Palit P35A @ 4.5k . Agreed P35 is an older chipset. But it supports Crossfire ( 16X 4X .. not very good) and also supports 8GB RAM. It should also overclock ok.

Another good one might be Biostar P43 D2A7 for around 4k ( I think ).

I'm not convinced about either of these. I feel like just closing my eyes and buying the ep45-ud3p, but its going to be an overkill for the e7400 plus, I dunno if and when I'd go multi-gpu. The choices are making me dizzy.

How is the Abit IP35-E?

I got quote of 7k for TPI45 from local dealer for Biostar ( ABACUS ). It seems to be a pretty good board with a lot of upgrade options esp for RAM and GPU later on.

Where will you be getting the EP45 UD3P from? Can you really source it for 8.5k here?

p45-ud3p @ 8.5k is a KMD to me. Will enquire biostar tpi45 prices.

BIOSTAR

I don't see e7400 in the supported list. That's disconcerting. THink they'll add support for it soon? Or should I go for the e7300?
