I can't seem to find anything cheaper than the HTC legend which is currently at 22-24k.My budget is MAX 13k upto 16k if its really worth it.
stupid samsung seems to be least bothered about updating the i7500 otherwise that would have been perfect :@
Is there anything that I missed out or any upcoming phone in this price range or will I have to wait it out for either the Legends price to fall or the i7500 receive an official upgrade

Not too sure man.My friend knew the dealer that's the reason he got it.I doubt he can be of any use.I will try contacting my friend.

If you can find out the contact details of the dealer then it would be a huge favour. Will your friend would be willing to get me the same deal?

The i5700 screen is perfect mate.I also use GPS a lot( i tend to get lost in this stupid country.Read New Zealand).I would say just go get the i5700.I havent increased the brightness of the screen from its default level which is about 40%.

If you want GPS software for the android PM me

That's very comforting to know. How would you rate the gps maps for India and could you possibly say how good/bad it is compared to Nokia Ovi Maps,if you happened to use Ovi which I found to be pretty good.

Come on mate, I completely agree with Metalspree......

I have both the Spica as well as the Moto Milestone & I think both are equally snappy in performance.

Maybe u are using some custom rom that is making the phone slower......

:)

Errr... i think you got confused here :p

Neways @ Metalspree

I dont know why but the i7500 seems much slower on 1.5 after a weeks use...

I know this wont help..but it still lags in Linpack results.

I havent used the NOkia OVI maps.If your going to buy an app for GPS then it would be sygic mobile. It works like charm.

That looks pretty cool and they have 90% coverage of India provided by MapMyIndia which is the source for maps for a lot of gps apps.
I'm tilting a lot towards the i5700 and am pretty much buying it.Thanks.
I'll be pming you with regards to some help with the maps *Wink Wink* :D

No mate i could not reach him.I am not in India ,i will try calling my friend over the weekend

okay, anyways...I have a question regarding GPS. When you buy a a phone which supports GPS and A-GPS and comes preinstalled with maps, do you still have to pay a monthly or yearly charge to someone to use the GPS feature or its completely free??

like if I buy Galaxy Spica, can I take it out of the box and start using the GPS right away, or I gotta activate it somewhere first??

Spica doesnt not come with offline maps. You have to purchase the software and the maps.Software reliable for Spica is Sygic Mobile and maps are Map My India.Spica has google maps loaded but it needs GPRS or wifi for navigation and there is no turn by turn navigation for India.

PM me for more details :)

Ah all my zeal ended here....no free maps :(

I bought 5233 just for the free Ovi maps and that silly phone doesn't have GPS (I know it was silly on my part for I bought that phone, should have got the 5230).

Anyway, now that I want a phone and GPS is something I need for sure, does Spica fits the bill ? I am very sure about not paying a single penny over the cost of the phone (I already have unlimited GPRS plan, if that helps).

Any workarounds *ahen ahem* ?
