hello guys,
I am currently using 3 HDDs in my system which have around 3 partition's each.I have never checked for bad sectors and never defragmented.
and now i would like to do that but can you tell me how?
should i just right click on the drive>tools>Check Now?

should i select "Automatically fix...."
and "Scan for and attempt..."?
and if i have bad sectors what am i supposed to do?

and shall i defrag after the error checking?

will i lose my data if i check for bad sectors and defrag?

thank you

1.using chkdsk to recover bad sectors requires restart.
2.U wont lose data when attempting to fix bad sectors.(the data is already lost if they are on bad sectors)
3.Use norton disk doctor. its good.
4.Defragging disk helps in sorting out the data clutter-inmproves faster data access. uwont lose data if u defrag after chking for errors.
