CPU/Mobo Checking for PCI/AGP lock

When flashing your BIOS, it gets reset as well. Similar to the "Clear CMOS" jumper, where your BIOS gets reset. After bootup you will usually be presented with a screen saying CMOS checksum failed - enter setup to load defaults, or something along those lines. That is considered normal.

Like everyone says since you have an FX , the multipliers are unlocked - use it. Its obvious PCI/AGP locks arent working on your board, and higher HTT has no gains unlike the FSB on AthlonXPs. All that matters is clock speed. Of course since HTT isnt being increased you cant overclock your memory.

The disadvantage would be you could only increment your proc's speed in steps of either 100Mhz/200Mhz (0.5x or 1.0x multiplier increment)
