It only made 300 crore cause tickets were priced at 900-1000 bucks in lots of places, if u calculate this way, yeh jawaani hai Deewani and three idiots will own CE.
So people were willing to pay 1000 Rs. to watch it? That's equally impressive.

And also I guess CEx was released on maximum number of screens ~3700 (+500 abroad) or so.
(not sure about YJHD though)

That was the primary reason it made so much money.

Collections were bound to be huge (record breaking) for the opening, which pulled in more people afterwards. Finally, non-believers and sceptical thronged to cinemas just to satisfy their curiosity (that what was so good about SRK and Deepika that the movie made so much money?) :p

They are trying/tried (I don't know if it's released) to do the same with Besharam. :yuck:

Lulz, besharam was an epic flop, it got bashed at the box office and from critics.. An article today in mumbai Mirror /toi about this.. Multiplex are removing besharam from most of their screens.. :P

Guess i saved a lot of money by not going to watch stupid movies in theaters.
But i know people who have paid upward of 550 Rs per ticket to watch movies like CE and such in the first weekend. Well that is personal choice.

You do not stay in Pune. Here there are shitty theaters who rip off the crowd.

The crowds themselves are not all that great either, "Woooing" and commenting pointlessly at every opportunity in an attempt to be cool.

Best theater crowd I ever had was in chennai, for TDK. Almost no chit-chat/phones ringing once the movie began, and as for the in-theater ads, 0 reaction for a jewelry ad with a skimpily clad woman, but the moment a BP monitor commerical with and old dude came on the theater erupted like Stone Cold Steve Austin had entered :D.

Last movie I saw in a theater was TDKR, last hindi movie I saw in a theater would probably have been Kuch-Kuch hota hai :D,

Gravity is intriguing me enough to consider bunking office and going to the wadala iMax.

Guys I saw Pacific Rim last night. I don't like this movie at all ! CEx may be stupid, retard and stereotypical, but Pacific Rim is racist ! Thats even worse than CEx.

4. Japanese are not allowed to speak. The guy in the second row-last column, never speaks. Just gives a scary stare look.

9. Protagonist talks in japanese, simply. Probably added to make fun of it. 'For my family!'

10. Black guy dies at the end. He sacrifices himself.

Not sure why Wadala Imax people have flatter screen as against the dome screen before. From outside it still looks like Dome but inside they have a flat(ter) screen.
I had seen The Dark Knight (not Rises) in the dome screen when it was sort of re-released in IMAX Wadala and the IMAX specific scenes were awesome.

But when i went to see Avatar there, it was not the dome anymore. Still the screen is huge.
