The AMD processors are a very good option for desktops BUT the same cant be said for AMD laptop processors as they are battery hungry and produce a lot of heat,its worth spending extra $80 on that intel based model if you dont want to face overheating problems with AMD based laptop.

The newer PhenomII and AthlonII series AMD mobile processors (Danube, Champlin i guess) seems to have taken care of the heat issues No more worries about excessive heat. IINM the battery life is not on par with Intel based ones though.

@OP: Why not consider the cheap Acer one? Also how many days have u got before u make a purchase? Better wait up for better deals

Else get a Asus laptop. They have intl warranty.
