Clone only C: partition from one SSD to another

Will do that :) Just to double confirm,
1. I save the product key before taking apart the old setup
2. Then create a bootable drive and use it to boot on the new hardware and choose which disk I'd want to install windows on

If this is correct, can I still use the old setup as is? Or will windows get deactivated the moment I try to connect to the internet?
Thanks in advance.

  1. You will have to install drivers and other auxiliary software on the new windows install.
  2. Hardware wise you don't have to change anything for it to be detected by the new windows install.
  3. Windows setup will ask you to enter a product key while doing the installation. As long as you are not using the same key simultaneously on 2 machines, you can re-use your existing key (from old windows install) on the new windows install.
