Cod 4,GOW now Out on Pc

Downloaded COD4 and finished the Single Player today. Its quite short, but some missions are very tough.
Theres one where you have to defend yourself and another guy who's injured from literally 100's of enemies for 10 minutes till a chopper comes to pick you up. Half those enemies have sniper rifles and the other half AK-47's. Its very tough to stay alive for that period of time and once the chopper comes to pick you up, it will stay for only 20 seconds before it flies off. you have to carry the injured guy to the chopper and you will not be able to use a weapon while carrying him. The bad part is that theres very little cover and most of their bullets will pierce through almost whatever you hide behind and the worst part is that theres no concept of health packs (you get back health by remaining for required amount of time in cover) and you die if you get hit by 2~4 shots and getting hit by a bullet makes the screen disoriented making it impossible to kill the enemy and at the same time allowing the enemy to get more shots before you can go into cover.
The Engine however is commendable. They have made a game with impressive graphics and still the engine can churn out 40~50 FPS @ 1680 x 1050 with 4x AA and 8x AF on my 1900XT. I initially thought it was the source engine, but later found out its a custom engine developed by Infinity Ward.

can some one please give me a copy of GeOW cuz i've tried downloading its showing an estimated time of 3 weeks and 4 days on 256 connection with a constant 7kbps speed

Tried GoW with the x360 controller , and damm , the kb/mouse feels so much better ..

lol.. No point playing a FPS/TPS with a controller, it will not match a keyboard/mouse even if the game originated on a console.

true nemesis a FPS or over the shoulder shooter is pretty weird for some who are used to playing with a mouse and a keyboad some find it easy like my friend cant play a FPS without invert axis and a joystick somehow he first played a FPS game on PS2 (time spliter) got used to it eversince.

Its simply about the greater control that Keyboard/Mouse combo offers in FPS/TPS games. A analog stick does not provide the amount of control a mouse provides. However pro a person is with a analog stick, he will still get pawned by a noob with a Keyboard/Mouse.
Thats why most of these multi-platform games are not allowing multi-player across platforms.Ero-Sannin

1280*1024 , maxed out .. fps is 40+ at any given time .. sometimes minor dip to around 30ish , but u'll barely notice ... avg. i'd say 50+ ..

^^ That's pretty good for its visuals and unreal 3 engine....i'm getting really low speeds on it....will take some time before i get it...i think i should also be able to get similar fps (maybe slightly more on my 7900gto)...its crysis i'm worried abt - these ppl have leapt at least 1 year into the future of cards
