COD4 high settings problem

How do i enable high settings in cod4? The world detail, water detail and some other features dont go above normal quality. Is there any way to enable high quality settings in COD4?. Plz tell me.

I have a x1950 pro....Got the demo...played at all setting high (leaving AA@ off and shadows at medium)....
I don't think options are locked....

AFAIK...only crysis have the features of "Very high" locked for vista users @ dx10....but u can still play at high settings..... but at high settings also i just get 16 FPS (with aa@0ff):(
 
i too dont get these options.

water detail, model detail & i think texture detail all have a max setting of normal.

can someone with a card more than 512mb confirm this. like a gts or a gtx.

Its not the case just with me, even Stormblast is having same prob. Reinstalling doesnt change a thing.

Could it be that.... like in Crysis...these options are unlocked in only Vista :huh: or DX10:huh:

already tried in vista & xp both.

its the same issue with a 8800gtx, 2900pro, 8800gt & 8800gts 320mb.

the highest possible setting in these 3 options is "normal"
texture detail
water detail
model detail.

after searching a lot on the net & checking the cfg. there is no high setting. the max possible setting made in the game for these 3 settings is normal.

he is using truecontrol 550w.
 
Sorry to hack this thread but my copy apparently refuses to start with Single Player mode.Multiplay starts up fine but when I start Single Player it just crashes.Any ideas? I have 93.75 driver version would that be a suspect?

Get the 8800GT....Its a card sent straight from heaven.:ohyeah: Thats all i can say. LOL
