College tech festival query's :d

I KNOWN THAT SOME OF U MAY BE .......... MAY BE THINKING WHATS WRONG WITH THIS GUYS , SO MANY QUERY HE HAS .... BUT KYA KARU AADAT SE MAGABUR HU :cool2:

NOW SERIOUSLY I WANT TO KNOW THE FOLLOWING THINKS :

As Our college is the new one and as it's having it's second years with very few student from first year and more then enough form our freshers , they have decide to organize a TECH-FEST / Carnival for all BSC. I.T. , BSC . C.S & for BMS students for one week
{ don't know is it for 7 days or just for 5 days }.

The main part is that that they Don't know what happens in this FEST AND CARNIVALS in other colleges so they have asked us to give any ideas ;)

They are also thinking to call other colleges to joint our fest and competitions in it :D

Two fix things we have decided are online { lan mode } gaming challenges , and web designing competition.

please give more ideas and tell me what less happens in u'r college or use to happened ;)

try to keep the discussion clean and clear :hap2:
AND ONE MORE THING , CAN U ALSO SUGGEST A GOOD NAME FOR THE EVENT ???

I THOUGHT OF THIS ONE : TECH MANIA - but sounds like for of like a T.V. show ;)

Most imp thing is finance... Where are u going to get that and since u are a new college people will be reluctant to come there and moreover it also depends on ur location.... So as of now u need to concentrate on getting a good sponsorship and then u have to allot max funds to the prizes or else people will not be interested to come to your college...

Since u will be organising for the first time u mus thave the following: LAN GAMING, ROBOTICS (atleast three tracks), Tech PPT, Non-Tech PPT extrememly essential to have really good seminars and workshops, Junkyard wars, ROCK SHOW (with good bands)... A rock show will help in the publicity of the college...

and namewise use something different.... So get a name that catches the eye instantly.... and that decision should be left with the creative team they can come up with good stuff...
 
For our computer tech fest we used to have cs 1.6 , fifa and nfs and the tech competitions there was a event where we used simulate tech interviews by placing an aptitude , tech rnd and a fun filled hr round (video shooting used to be done for this :) ) , kill the mouse contest where tasks used to be given to be done from the keyboard without using mouse , then few coding and paper presentation contests.

But for me and my friends it was lan gaming for 3 entire days :D.
 
College is going to have some sponcers but don't known what finance they can get :/

lan gaming is what we are concentrating but what other games the cs 1.6 is good for this event ???????

Any suggestions ????
