The best way of finding the capacity of your internet connection is to download multiple huge size files from microsoft or sun.com with a download manager like flashget, download accelerator plus, getright etc. These download accelerators, parse the downloads and download in multiple threads, so you are tapping the whole bandwidth. To check the bandwidth, just run a net meter application along with this. so, you will be able to exactly measure the bandwidth.
