I am looking for a compact point and shoot camera for my parents. Basic requirements:

1. NO Touchscreen
2. Easy to Use and simpe UI
3. Good rechargeable battery
4. Decent Zoom
5. Pocket friendly size - It shouldn't be a pain to carry around
6. HD Video recording would be a plus but not compulsory
7. No unwanted bells and whistles required
8. Date function for pics that will allow pics to be stamped with the date.

Budget: 10K

Panasonic Lumix DMC-S2/S5. Image sensor seems to have the lowest noise among sub-10K compacts.
You can check out the DMC-FH8 also. Looks like the same sensor as the S5 with a slightly brighter lens.

2. Easy to Use and simpe UI
3. Good rechargeable battery
4. Decent Zoom
5. Pocket friendly size - It shouldn't be a pain to carry around
6. HD Video recording would be a plus but not compulsory

That model suffers from Red Eye issues it seems.
no camera can give you 100% red eye correction... that's why it's called red eye "reduction" and not elimination. there are cameras which can correct the red eyes automatically "post clicking" and then there are some where you need to point out the red eyes... and the for the rest, there's always something like PhotoShop.

there are techniques to reduce the red eye phenomena but you can't get rid of it completely. cameras may fix it for you but they still click pics with red eyes to begin with.
