Laptops Compaq Laptop Problem...

Well i have a pal who has a Compaq Laptop with a Slimtype DVD A DS8A1P DVD Writer which doesn't seem to co-operate so much right now Some Discs read, some are completely ignored. I'm guessing it's a problem with the DVD Lens not sure. Can anything be done? Also will the warranty be voided because it originally came with Vista and he kinda got sick of it and Shifted to XP..

Warranty will NOT be voided due to software. Go get it fixed by the service center guys

Try using a Lens cleaner CD before taking it to service center.

He supposedly used a Lens Cleaner but it didn't really help it seems, as the warranty is not void, that's a relief i guess he'll give it to the Service Center, Thanks a lot Guys :hap2:
