Graphic Cards Computer did not boot up?

naaah....

Am using onboard LAN now....

Now, dont ask why even bought a LAN card :P With my old internet connection (Exatt), the onboard LAN used to give me a BSOD and the internet guy told me that someitmes Exatt has problems with onboard LAN (Thanks a ton VIA !! ) ....so was forced to buy a LAN card.

But I dont need it now....

Ok...SAME problem today....but this time, I tried a lot with the 6800 GT and if it booted till the Windows XP scroll bar, then the whole screen was filled with artefacts......

Right now, using 440 MX ....seems to be working fine at 640 x 480.

I am wondering if it is a PSU issue..... coz the 440 doesnt need an external power connector....

Am going to check the voltage readings now with a DMM....

Maybe your Mobo is getting ****ed up seriously. Since youve been feeding it so much voltage since these days, it couldve brought about a progressive damage in it.

how does feeding volts to my CPU damage my mobo ??

I will be glad if my mobo is the culprit....it is easier to send my mobo for RMA instead of trying to send my BFG for warranty....

Now, reinstalled the 6800 GT and it at least boots up....

But when I play any games, this is what I get

I even reinstalled the graphics card drivers.....any other suggestions ??

Try and connect a different power connector to your AGP . Please change your graphics card . i doubt its anything else . also to differenciate if its the lan card or video please go to start - > run - > minidump . you will see all sorts of files there . please zip them and upload it so that i can run a windbg and seee which module caused the crash . so if its the lan driver it could be your driver or mobo . if its a nvidia module , drivers or card thats died .

@Sharekhan --- I tried connecting a different power connector...no use :'(

And secondly, I used a DMM to measure the voltages.... 12V rail is at 12.15 and 5V rail is at 5.17......

So, I dont think PSU is a problem here :'(

Am trying to contact BFG but the email keeps bouncing back from support@bfgtech.com

any suggestions ??

I am thinking of sending this for RMA to BFG and hoping for a replacement or whatever. I obviously will replace the Silencer with the stock heatsink...but I dont think I have the bill......

I didnt do it coz I know it cant be the LAN card as there is no LAN card in my system now :P

Anyway, I reinstalled my 6800 GT and did a complete reinstall of the nvidia drivers (using DC and all.....)

and it is working fine for the time being..... It is working PERFECTLY.....

Played GTR 2 for abt an hour and it was fine....

nope...system is not fine....back on 440 MX now :'( :'(

Going tomorrow to test 6800 GT on another AGP system..... :'( Pray for me....

for all you know it could be the case that your Mobo is fried , it can also be two simultaneous issues at once . so rather than connecting the symptoms you need to do a trial and error with known good parts .

though i would still like to take a look at the dmp files , they might point us in the correct direction .

Tested the 6800 GT on an AGP system for half an hour with RTHDRIBL running full screen....though temps went up to 80, it never crashed......

Will try the same thing tomorrow in my comp.....
