Alpha whenever you suggest anyone this monitor Dell 2312 Monitor I would request you to tell them to purchase a M3x6 mm screw to tight the screen to the stand otherwise the screen would slide down on each and every side. And because of that the warranty could be void if any physical damage. Because the screw doesn't come in the box. You need to purchase it separately of your own. Check the num 8 of the bottom view Documentation

This is CRAP - If this is such a vital component (a Screw !!!) why does'nt Dell provide it ?

Do you mean to say that this screw (Stand lock feature) has to be loosened/tightened each time you raise/lower the height !!!

This is a great monitor but for this small oversight.

Thanks for this update friend. Myself do not own a DELL Ultrasharp monitor and no one has ever told this to me. But I sincerely doubt that DELL would not provide a securing bolt, when it is such a crucial part of the monitor. Most probably the shopkeeper must have removed it whilst showing the piece to you and demanding you pay up to increase his margins; they do that.

Yes this has happened many times,It must be the shopkeepers fault as for once one of my friend didn't get the stand which we put the panel on.Dell won't do such thing and if this happens then it'd be better to call dell and tell them they'd give the missing peace without complaint.

I am not lying but, just check the package contents in the documentation of the link Documentation and you shall come to know that no screw is there inside the package at all. And the warranty does not support if your screen gets tilted from the side with your hands which is mentioned particularly. So this is the jhatka you get at once that DELL does not give a screw at first and any newbie purchasing this monitor wont have any knowledge if the screw will come or not and if the screen gets tilted and even if by mistake it breaks or the thin film inside gets teared off then the warranty is void and no longer can be replaced but it can only be repaired and you have to pay additional charges for the same.

I still dont have the screw now. So I have just made a paper ball and put it besides on both the sides of the screen and just trying to find out in which shop I can get that particular size screw.

Terence I also didn't knew this but just wanted to update you all as soon as I bought and saw this. From past 1 week I am trying to figure it out in which shop I can get that particular size screw but not able to find any. Because no shopkeeper can understand what I meant to say as per the size and also since I stammer a little bit that also becomes a problem for me to explain.

John is right Jakob & @ALPHA17 - Abhay .... (u guys missed the detail in the documentation -
See Sr.No.8 - "Stand Lock feature" - To lock the stand to the monitor using M3x6 mm machine screw (screw not provided)
) ..... I googled and saw that this so called M3x6 mm machine screw - may be available at any local hardware shops too ....... take a picture of the same and try your luck & do not worry bro about your stammering - I used to stammer like hell myself until I was 21 or so ..... and then it vanished .... today i am 48!! and (just tell yourself that you care a damm if anyone ever laughs at you ......... be confident always in yourself & BELIEVE IN YOURSELF 110 percent)

This is a beautiful Monitor & the BEST VFM ..... Why Did Dell have to do a shitty thing like this ?

^ ask for a 3mm diameter threaded screw with 6mm length. I'm not sure if the 6mm is for length (quite small) or screw head diameter, cause the one i have has 6mm head diameter, and length is almost 2/3rd of an inch. its fairly common. around 50paise for 1.
