PC Peripherals config issues, Pune dealers

BenQ is not available here as far as I know, tho Liteon is available (don't know of the individual model u want, just talking about general availability).
I am final yr PICT.
 
@ bladerunner - cables across rooms looks really bad...
2 more q for you guys..hopefully the last before I finally make up my mind:-) - does a flat screen make a lot of difference?...if it does,which would you suggest - Samsung, LG or Viewsonic in what order?
And what about my choice of speakers?..... Creative SBS 370 2.1..getting it for approx 1400/-...Is there a better speaker with approx the same price?
And when is BenQ 1640 expected? Or has it already arrived in Bombay?
 
As for TV tuner cables, it has nothing to do with TV location, rather to do with TV cable jack location (the cable into TV tuner does not come thru the TV or anything). A friend of mine once had a wireless setup for something like that. He had a video game console (old 8 bit nintendo clone) and while he sometimes connected it to his TV using a regular TV cable, sometimes he use this wireless antenna on both ends... looked like a cordless phone antenna.
 
Its just two metal pieces attatched to both the ports.IMO any wire stiff enough and sufficient length can be used.

Uhh, that wireless setup was for composite video/audio and was bought abroad a looong time ago. I just wanted to tell you that it is possible. But Kumar is right, it is nothing fancy.

Also , I cant seem to find MSI boards anywhere in Pune, atleast with the major dealers like
Sujata, Baba & Data care. My father is not allowing me to buy the boards separately from outside Pune.
So, can you suggest any other large, cheap, reliable dealers in Pune? I'll see if they have MSI. I found a dealer who did, called Stech but dont really know about them.
The problem in Pune seems to be that they stock only Asus without onboard graphics(A8N)which alongwith
the graphics card works out to 5-6 grand more than MSI.

I believe the ALtec Lansing ATP 3 for 2.5k is te best deal at that price. Also Darky said that he could get a benq 1640 for 3250. Liteon DVDRW seems to have some problems, either go for Benq 1640 or Sony DRU810a if I am not mistaken.
 
Hello zanyzaphod, read thru all ur posts n now for replies, first of all where do u stay coz me also in Pune :D

anyways MSI i had a hard time finding it coz in Pune there is a general percection that only things that r sold r to be stocked so u might have hard luck finding one.

Cable TV yes u need to have da jack near ur pc coz there is no wireless thingy existing atleast to my knowledge (trust me my dad's a cable operator).

Now Sujata dunno much about him but DCC sux they got kick ass stock but again the same song, no much variety and on top of that they make you wander the whole 3 floors for a fuggin quotation. If u really needed a PC dont go to DCC, if u need a thing that u know DCC stocks then only head for it coz I found it to b a lil' bit cheaper than lotsa ppl.

Now for S'Tech have u been to 'Snowball' anytime if yes go towards Shivajinagar just hardly 20 steps then u see a road between snowball and the petrol pump, dont go to the restaurant side, go to the house side ok. Then go up the road between snowball and petrol pump u gotta go way up that road and then on the left side u'll see S'Tech. Now as fas as this guy is concerned hes got the kick a$$ spk sets and also LCD's which r kept on for demo's so u can go check it out. I'm putting a pic up for the road map.

Anymore things pls feel free to ask and as far as soks r concerned I trust in ALtec only nothing else :P coz I got 1.(ATP3)
