hi!
i just got a dell g2410 -- 24 incher with 1920x1080 support.

i want to know what should be the best possible config within 40---45k to play all the games at max settings @ this resolution.
wanted::
cpu
motherboard
ram
graphics card

i have the rest of the components.
i would be grateful to ones who reply quickly!!!!
thanks in advance!!!

Cpu - Intel core i5-750 (2.66Ghz) - 10.4k

Mobo - GA-P55M-UD2 - 6.7k

Ram - Corsair 2x2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 5.4k

Graphics card - ATI HD 5850 1gb GDDR5 - 17k ( DX11 futureproof)

SMPS - Corsair VX 550 - 5.5k

Total - 45k

Core i5 defeats any AMD cpu at this pricepoint

i dont want the core15 its a dead platform and i can't upgrade to 6/8 cores on it.

Cpu - Phenom II x4 955 - 9k

Mobo - Gigabyte 785GMT-UD2H - 5.9k

Ram - Corsair 2x2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 5.4k

Graphics card - ATI HD 5850 1gb GDDR5 - 17k ( DX11 futureproof)

SMPS - Corsair VX 550 - 5.5k

Total - 42.8k

But i would still say Core i5 is more bang for buck

You want future upgradability but how many of us upgrade the proccy only? 8 times out of 10 times we will upgrade the whole platform, because either one or more parts of the platform causes a bottleneck.

Its still doubtful whether DDR3 or PCIE bus doesen't become EOL then, or what if DDR 3 prices are higher, performance is lower etc.

Buy what is better at present, as predicting tech is impossible

i do upgrade the cpu!

i had an amd64 939 3000+ single core and now three years back i got a 939 dual core opteron which is still a good competitive cpu and also the board had pcie 16x support and i started out with a 6600gt 256mb and two years abck got the 8800gt 512mb(g92)

to build anything in life the base must be strong!

^^^^^bump!!!!!!

anyone interested in helping me out? no core i5 solutions please!

MSI X58 Pro-E or Asus P7P55D Pro 11k
Core i7 920 or Core i7 860 14k
2x2GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator KMD 6k
MSI 5850 16.5

48.5k

Y u need any other config ??? Thats a Damn Good Config, though some prices are a bit off ...but thats the config i would have bought if i were you.

I do not think that you will need more than 4 cores anytime in near future, so going for socket 1366 solely because you want to upgrade to a hexa core is not wise. You will never need such kind of processing power if you are only playing games and regular stuff, not encoding or anything like that because that will get faster...

Anyways, for now you should go for 1156 socket, because it is more bang for buck, you can easily beat a i7 920 based system and perform similar to i7 940 based system with the below mentioned stuff...

I would suggest,

MSI P55 GD65

Core i7 860

Corsair 2x2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz

HD 5850

Corsair VX 550

I hope you have a good cabinet to house the above stuff...
