Congrats ! I will wait for your return to Mumbai so that I can check out your D4 and also take that beer you owe me ! :)

Sure sir ,lets make that single beer to a crate of beer from my side :P.I am feeling like having a beer after talking so much about beer .

Let's have an first head-fi meet in India :ohyeah:.I will let you guys know once i am in India we might meet up only after 10th of April. Will some how make it to Mumbai at least for a day and a max of 2 days .

Congrats but must say am amazed at the speed at which you made your mind up !!

Now that you told us you got it, when we get the review ?

After i get i will post the impressions of it .I will not dare to write review about it as i am noob at electronic components:(.If u want reviews about the D4 head to head-fi and check Jamato8 review or Skylab review.Errr there is a dedicated thread about D4 Mamba its 56 pages long and still counting.

At my price range there were at least 20 different amps.Taking decision on this one was not easy it was tricky i read about the D4 for days together ,called Brendon atleast 4 to 5 times and ate up his head :P.

Ok, your budget says a max of $250, so can we understand that you expect a product that is 2.5 times better than one costing $100.

How much should a product that was 2.5 times better in terms of sound than the E7 cost ?

This is never the case. When you cross 1000$ for headphone amps, for example, the performance difference between a 50 percent costlier amp will be 5 percent, or if you're lucky, 15 percent.

However, for cheaper 100~300$ stuff, the difference will be more, but never proportionate, unless you're comparing a really crappy 100$ product to a sublime 300$ one.

This will be easy, open it up stick op-amp's of varying flavours and then savour the difference (or not), like wine tasting. No fiddling, soldering or hair loss to worry about.

What is the current system you use ?
This will give a reference point to make the comparison.

Agree, but the thing is even if there is a perceptible difference then you have justifed the cost as you notice it every second you use the product. To be able to notice a difference without trying it has to be at least 10%. different.

...easy to see this becoming quite an addicitive pursuit, caution advised.

My present amp is a cmoy V2 .It was DIY amp done by a Australian head-fier.I will try writing a review for the D4 but there is time constraint for the next 2 months.I will certainly post initial and after burn-in( minimum 300 to 400 hours) impressions.

Audio products are always addictive and your wallet will always cry when ever u purchase :P

^ Is the Cmoy V2 which own has variable Bass Boost feature and swappable Op-amps .. ? You know,it's going to be mine once your D4 is here :D.

Yup it has a bass boost switch on/off switch on it .Btw a small update on D4 .Check how fast was DHL that too on a weekend/I am going to the courier shop tomo morning at 9AM( NZ time) which is like another 7hrs.On boy oh boy just cant wait :P

Same here. The E7 doesn't feel that interesting after reading the reviews.
I didn't like your HD650 nor Faheem's SHP9000. :P

I've been itching to make myself a cmoy, but the sad part is, I don't have a decent earphone to pair it with. :( Poor me, someone please gift me the RE0.

Eeesh. Those are warm rubbish headphones. You buggers need to audition an SR225 at least.
