^^Hexa core processor won't be exclusive to LGA1366. who thought that core i7 will be launched on LGA1156. Though hexa core processor will come for X58 boards, it will be beyond reach in price and by the time it becomes affordable, Intel will release one for P55 chipset.

AFAIK it will be only lga1366. The i7 was launched for the LGA 1156 so that its a little cheaper and more people can afford it, however that is not going to be the idea with the 6 core i9.

initially, yes but it will be availble for midrange buyers.
given the way amd is getting closer and closer to core i7, if amd pulls out a hexa core processor at 15k price point that works on 785g, intel will have no other way but to release a p55 based hexa core processor. as a result, end user will be paying less than what they pay for a lga1366 setup now and also for the upgrade later.

Does even one need anything more than dual core for gaming, let alone a 6 core processor? Atleast as far as now or heck even 2 years atleast down the line?

This "more core the better for gaming" story is long dragged ever since q6600 days even when people prematurely bought a b3 stepping, when even a e7xxx series satisfies their needs as far as gaming is the primary reason. In any case, this will something which would end up as a discussion, but putting up such discussion on a thread where one wants a config advice will simply end up confusing the OP.

Keeping the OP's budget in mind, stick to Udit's Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5+ Intel i7 920 combo. As for the rams, better off importing one. However, keeping the primary usage of the OP, a P55-UD2+ i5 750 with a good 4GB dual channel rams will be enough for a long time as well.

The question is not "whether you have to get LGA 1156 or 1366?", but the question is "Do you really want to spend a rig primarily for gaming but spend 17k on a board alone?"
