A hub, switch or a router is required...

Just create a hub in dc++ and give everyone the ip of the admin.

To create a hub use ptokax.
thnxs but what is ptokax - is it a feature inside dc++ or another software ?

PtokaX Direct Connect Hub download ptokax from here...

Now remember for all of you to connect - All of you should have the SAME GATEWAY ADDRESS.

Next up open your ptokax software... and for the ip put your OWN IP address [ anyone who is going to host should put his ip here as the hub ip]

Other settings of ptokax are very easy to understand so set them as per your wishes..

Now Start the ptokax software and on it click the start hub .. and then your hub will be started...

Now secondly.. all of you need to download a dc++ client...

you can download one of these

1 - DC++ the standard one..

2 - CZDC++

3 -STRong dc++[ my recommendation]

google them for download links...

When you start your dc ++ enter the settings... a user name you like... and the folders you want to share.. and other settings as per your choices..

Now give the IP of the Host [ the ip of your friend who is hosting the hub] to all your friends..

Start the dc++ client..

press - CTRL+Q for quick connect... enter the hub ip here [ ip of the host - The HOSt should start the Ptokax at this point].. and press enter...

you will be connected to the hub.. now you can download from your friends...[ you can only download stuff they have included in the shared folder in dc++ settings...]

Even the host needs to use dc++ client[ along with the Ptokax client] to connect..

Thats it.. happy sharing...

If you have more questions feel free to ask,, :P

I think you would have used ipmsg for transferring data & for chatting apart from dc++

IIRC you just need ipmsg on all networking pc's , launch the exe & you are ready to share/chat.
Just ensure that all PC's use same default gateway & are in the similar IP range. for ex 10.x.x.x cannot use ipmsg with 192.168.x.x but there is no such limitation with dc++.

Why not use VPN software like Hamachi? All of you get on the same VPN and then you can either use FTP software or DC++ to transfer data.
