i need a converter which can be customized for H264 so that i can use my GPU to reduce conversion time [i am not sure if MEGUI uses GPU ]

i have GTX460 AMP and unlocked 555BE @ stock

i would be mainly ripping my games videos recorded with the help of FRAPS

i dont like converters with inbuild presets unless they have options to customize

guys help me use my GPU power

^^ How does it use AMD cores (correction AMD doesn't have cores it has only got VLIW engine).

^^ FYI ATI Cards are off lately known as AMD from 6*** Generation

Sire I know that, I didn't ask for that but how is AMD encoding movies it doesn't have anything like the CUDA cores on it only has SIMD engines for graphics processing, rumors abound that the next generation cards HD 8*** and HD 7*** [high end cards] will integrate a new Compute Core which'll compete against nVidia's CUDA and do graphical processing as well.

^^ AVIVO yikes that thing refuses to encode anything for me. And I've been using it since Catalyst 10.5, wonder what is wrong.

Yes avivo is pretty bad.For me it encoded everything fast but I could not change the default resolution or aspect ratio.

You can use only one(GPU or CPU) at a time

use Bada BOOM or mediacoder like others said

try mediacoder its free

i think freemake video converter also support CUDA

anyway giving a try on mediacoder and Xilisoft converter but will have to wait for UDIT to ship my card soon

I have used Xilisoft 6 with ATI Catalyst 10.6 for conversion with use of ATI Stream.

The best way to encode videos is to use powerful CPU.GPU encoding will deteriorate quality of Video whatever technique u used.Current algorithms are not that efficient to fully utilize GPU without deteriorate O/P Quality.
