if your budget is high like 5-7k buy the Antec TruePower Trio 550W, Antec NeoHE 500W, Zebronics Diamond Series 640W or Coolermaster iGreen 500W

if your budget is low like 2-4k buy the Zebronics Diamond Series 540W, Powersafe 500W (L&C OEM) or Coolermaster Xtreme Power 600W

Is Cool Master Psu Next best after antec ? ... looking for a Good 500 Watts SMPS

firstly its COOLERMASTER and not COOLMASTER.

please give us your budget so that we can suggest accordingly. thanks.

I am on coolermaster extreme power temporarily since my OCZ hasent reached me yet. and i can safely say i am disappointed with it. Its not able to sustain 3.4Ghz oc with 8800GTX. I had to back down to 3.1 to avoid random reboots while playing CSS. Rail is hovering at 11.7idle and 11.5 full load but it suddenly dips down to 11.3 and pc reboots.

Maybe its this piece but its giving me problems. I have no other psu with me so have no choice until ocz comes :(

EDIT: It looks and has ditto same ratings as Seventeam 500BK series. And also looks same except the colour of casing which is black. So it should be good technically.

And i have had 0 issues with it on my dad's system which is similar to mine exception it has MSI965P and 7300GT.

I would say buy it for a mainstream system, BIG NO for enthusiasts.

the extreme power is a low end power supply I would not recommned it to anyone....who is going for overclock or heavy gfx.....other wise in a normal system it will work fine....

I even have used a coolermaster I-green power supply on my system....the 12 volts was at 11.7 and 11.8 with amd x2 5200+ and 8800gts......but now I have a seventeam 750 watts....rock soild PSU but a bit pricey....

I know no-one is going to believe this but its true freinds:

I have a seventeam 250W PSU that i bought with my chenbro sr11 cabinet in mid 2004.
this 250 watt runs

1. E6300 on MSI p965 NEO
2. Sapphire X1900XT 512mb
3. 3x 320gb 7200.10 seagate HDD's + transcend 160gb External
4. 4x 120mm Antec Ball bearing fans
5. 2x DVD-RW (LG+Lite on)

& yes just to repeat, its a 250W from Mid 2004 time. Touchwood, never had a single PSU hitch till now. now beat that!!

Seventeam is a lil un-publicized brand, but definately a best one to catch. & pls don't try to relate it to anything like CM. If u even get a chance to weigh it with another 600W(CM etc.) in the same price range, u will know how it is. the build quality is robust.

@Darklord, yes sure bro! i'll let u know the exact model no. on monday. I have another freind in Kalkaji who has been doing seventeam from past 3 yrs. & i have been deploying it since then. I was a lil astonished when saini(SMC) showed he has "my fav" PSU's with him now so i can buy from him also.

as for the technical specs, all Seventeam 500W have dual 12v mostly same rating 18 ampere. same specs on all 3-4 models in the ATX 2.0 page if u check the off. site. Just to admit that im not a master at evaluating PSU's acc. to ratings so pls have a look at them & let me know if there is something SPECIFIC thats really good. Im sure i can procure them on order.

Ya I agree the ST power supply are one of the best ones even I got one...but all the above stuff on a 250 watts is make me wondering how come it is taking so much of the load....can you please post the pics of that PSU.....

@mehargags

maybe that ST 250W ran all the stuff u mentioned ...but i would not recommend using that rig with a 250W psu ....whether its seven team or the cricket team or whatever .... period. that rig deserves a better psu for gods's sake.. (even for testing purposes)

Thx but no thanx for the opinion there..... If Im dead sure abt the performance being at its top notch without any single problem, i w'd not mind keeping it on for the time & use my money for better things. but if i ever upgrade it (not any time soon) it will be a SevenTeam only. & if u don't know abt that brand much, better do some research before freaking out for the uber brands like Antec & CM with 4 out of 10 people reporting bad experiences with them.

heh ?? when did i say ST was a bad brand ?????? i just said 250W from even the best brand is not recommended for that rig.

EDIT : and i use neither antec nor coolemaster :P ..so dont worry bout me freaking out.

and finally its ur rig and u can use it with 250 or 500 watts ...all ur choice :D ....i jst had to advice :P
EDIT 2 : and using a 250watts psu on that uber rig is like equipping a mercedes with apollo tyres. rofl.

man i dont think u shud run ur rig with that 250W....man how cud u even thimk of thrying to risk all this on that psu...i aint saying ST is bad or anything... man come on man 250W aint sufficient for any of the last years hardware even
