Hello all,
Looking for a Graphic card for gaming at 1680*1080 resolution which has Low-Power, Low-Noise and High-Performance in that order.

Here are my system spec:-
AMD Phenom II X2 555BE(Unlocked to 4 cores and 15% Overclocked)
Corsair Value Select 1333 2*2 GB
Tacens Supero 500W

budget could be upto 20k, but I don't want it to be a overkill on 1680 resolution. Will 6850 or 5770 do good at this resolution, I want to play recent and upcoming games at max settings?

@comp@ddict

Maybe Powerful ENOUGH;)

A 5670 should be the minimum you're looking at. It's a pretty good card, low power and enough muscle for gaming at medium/high on 1680*1050.

I had one, and replaced it with a 5750 when I had to RMA my card. The 5750 is more powerful, and it runs cooler and quieter than my previous 5670, because of a better heatsink. But it consumes more power. The 5750 and 5770 are priced pretty close to each other, so IMO either get the 5670, or the 5770.

6850 for starters OMG..... low power and low noise he should go for 5770
HD6850 consumes a few watts more, same temps(actually reference 6850 is as cool than reference 5770 afaik) and the best part, more than 50% more performance

You can also look at AMD 5870 DDR5 Radeon

And choose in from top which suits ur budget.. The powerful is the top most..

First of all tell us what exactly cash you can spent on GPU cause it gives you less confusion because " Keep Techenclave Clean !!" ;) wats say ?

budget is upto 20k but the card should not be a overkill for a 1680*1080 res, also i have a 500w PSU already working a overclocked and unlocked Phenom II- just emphasizing!.

My posts are getting screened at snail rate, mods help!

Get a MSI 5770 Hawk edition. Great cooling and very quiet. Gives good performance too. It should be good enough for 1680x1080.

Since you didn't mention your budget, you could go for 6850 as well.

Please provide the budget. Also the +12v rating on the psu or the total watts available on +12v rail.
If the budget is around 10k go for 6850 if the psu has enough amperes. I am not aware of Tacen psu's

Budget is upto 20k.

PSU is a Tacens Supero 500w.

Does this help?-

"Tacens Supero 500 (FSP520-80GCM — 80PLUS?) — P2,240

+3.3V: 36A | +5V: 30A | +12V1: 18A | +12V2: 18A | +12V3: 18A | +12V4: 18A

+3.3V & +5V limit: 155W | +12V limit: ~320W (26.7A)

Rated power: 500W @ 25ºC | Max power: 450W @ 50ºC"

Budget is upto 20k.

Is Sapphire 6850 also cool and quiet, i would not mind spending a few more k's u know with the Delhi Summer coming up?

If 6850 is around 9.5k could you guys also suggest a decent sound card also to utilize the left over budget?

is it must that 20k has to be spent? then get 24" 1980x1080 screen so you can spend more on GFX then.

if you want to be with 1650x1080 then get 5770 or 6850 and keep rest money with you. GPU's quickly gets outdated .... so rest money might help you for another upgrade.
