Hi TE People,

need ur advice.

Yest got a new 500 gb Hitachi HDD from Lam rd.

Was going to fresh install XP on it...when a friend told me to ghost it using Norton ghost.

Now my OS in old 40 gb IDE HDD works like a charm and since I believed in "If it aint broken dont fix it", I let it remain my OS HDD.

Also feel kinda lazy to install all programs, create settings again.:P

Now however think its time to put OS in New HDD as being IDE vs Sata advantages.

Any solutions? Advice etc?

Was apprehensive coz a reliable source told me that Ghost and all such softwares access the bios directly which may not be ideal....hence the dilemma

Since HDD is mapped on IDE technology...the image will also have the same...so wont it be under utilization of SATA architecture.?

nothin like that :) It will automatically detect the new drive once the SATA drive boots up :) no issues.
