Can someone suggest a good Cordless phone within 2k budget range? I'm not interested in any fancy features. Just good range and battery life are my 2 major concerns. I want to use it as a replacement for my existing MTNL's landline.

Thanks in advance. :)

get panasonic. im using it for close to 4years now. after 3yrs of use battery life became very low so had to change it.

I'm using a Panasonic TG 3611 BX along with the MTNL landline phone. It works fine. Only trouble is, it doesn't work if power goes out unless you've connected it to an inverter. Bought it for 1800.

W/o the model number and maybe even price quote.. the post is just about half complete.

Thanks guys. Could anyone of you list a good Ebay deal for the same or do you reckon I buy it from some local store? I think the last Cordless I used was a Panasonic as well. Also like Spacey said, price and model number would be helpful. :)

letmein, how old is that model? Is it still available?

Yeah, just search for the model number in eBay. I bought it 4 months back in Jan.

Having used phones that costs around 8k from panasonic, uniden and V-tech.
I have to say the range of the panasonic isn't that good, especially the one without any antenna.
My panasonic handsets deplete their battery they only last 1 year and if there is a power cut,it depletes the battery much faster ,for unknown reason.

If you can find uniden cordless phones they are more VFM and have good range. However official support isn't available in india.

I own the Panasonic TG6413 based on DECT 6 (1.9 Ghz) with its base station situated 20 meters from other 2 handsets.

It was online order and did not have the opportunity to test it.

During conversation i realised speakerphone needs to be switched on to properly hear caller's voice. The instrument also suffers from fading effects indoors and outdoor as GSM phones do.

This is not related to interference or weak batteries.

I'm not sure how 1.9Ghz compares to old FM cordless phones or the recent 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz band phones (beyond budget)

Is there any Panasonic cordless which has a power backup of around 2hr? The current outlet where my phone is installed is not on Inverter support and as a result the line remains dead for the duration of power cut.

@Roxtin
The KX-TG664XB (X is the number of handsets) series does seem to have power backup touted as one of its main features. But I guess it isn't available in India yet.
Here is a link to the single handset model - KX-TG6641B - DECT 6.0 Plus
Not sure about the power backup duration though.

hm...just checked out that these new cordless emit radiation 24*7 wow very shocked both the 2.4 Gz and the DECT all super duper radiation emitting devices ??
am I allowed to post a ytube vid here or will I get banned for it ?
