PC Peripherals Core i7 config in 75K

I did some research and understood that corei7 is similar to that of core2quad with hyper threading enabled. I also came to know that it will get hotter and you need a cabinet with good airflow like CM 690 or HAF.

I think a cooler like sunbeam Core contact freezer will reduce the temps even if you don't overclock.

I like Udits suggestion with gtx260 core 216...Go for that one and if you want to cut, go for a lower-end monitor as you already have a 32" LCD.

Thanks again amitash and udit, will finalise my config in a day or two..so the things i need to order from the US are the graphics card and RAM. Will post my final config then.

Do you mean that there will be no difference in idle and load speeds if I use a CCF and doesn't overclock?

there will be but it is not needed as intel made the cooler for stock speeds

Hi guys 1 more thing, i heard that the crosair PSU is an ACTIVE type of psu. what does that mean exactly? I'm curious just because i have a normal inverter at my home with 2 batteries..will this affect the PSU when the lights are out[I have a spike guard in place though]

Guys i have finalized my config, ordering it next week. Please let me know ur suggestions/modifications[All prices via theitwares.com]

1) Core i7 920 : 15.5k
2) Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 : 15k
3) OCZ Platinum 3x1GB DDR3 1600MHz : 5k via KMD
4) MSI GTX 260 C216 : 13k via KMD
5) Western Digital 640gb sata2 HDD : 3.7k
6) LG GH22NS30 DVDRW : 1k
7) CoolerMaster CM690 : 4k
8) Corsair TX650W Power Supply : 6k
9) Logitech MX518 : 1.5k
10) Logitech Media Keyboard : 0.5k
11) Samsung 2233SW 22inch : 10k

Total : 75.6k

You can go for a Cheaper case. The base line of Coolermaster for about 2k.
Go for Simple HP Mouse and Keyboard. Which would save you around a 1k or so. and GTX 260 C216 is available for 11.5k + shipping here http://www.techenclave.com/hot-deal...ac-gtx-260-core-216-a-133735.html#post1104994

so that would decrease the cost for about 1.5k

Total saving would be around 4-4.5k which you should invest in buying a better monitor like Dell 2209W or Dell2409.The savings would be worth it.

IMHO you should go for a seagate 7200.12 500gb rather than WD.

1) Core i7 920 + MSI Pro X58 - 29K

2) G-Skill F3-10666CL7T-3GBPK (1GBx3 1333MHz): 7k

3) GTX 260 - 15k

4) 2x 500gb HDD - 3800 x 2 : 7.6

5) Asus dvd burner: 1k

6) CoolerMaster C590: 3.2K

7) Corsair 650W Power : 7K

8) Logitech laser keyboard + Mouse - 1K

9) Viewsonic 19"- 8.5K

10) Altec Lansing - 3K

Total - 82.3...

darn dont wanna remove anything... more thoughts to add though

Just few of the things u might be able to pick up from techenclave market :)

Some points.
1) I added the GTX 275 just to be future proof. I think 20"is enough for me since i already have a 32" bravia :)
2)For 7600, i am getting OCZ Platinum 6GB DDR3 RAM (3 x 2GB) via KMD.
3)Difference between CM590 and CM690?
4)Dont need writer+Keyboard/mouse+speakers
5)Is MSI Good than Gigabyte?

See first there is thread with comparison of 590 and 690.....

on the peripheral thread.... check that out..... both are amazing ...

as for Gigabyte & MSI end of the day .... u need to look at few things.... both use high quality capacitor, both have X58 chip.

My decision was based on budget and cooling.

MSI pro doesnt have graphic option on board. So was cheaper. Both are Crossfire or SLI ready. Both have patented cooling technology.

Rest check this link ...

AnandTech: Intel X58 Motherboard Roundup - What does $300 Get You?

This has an amazing shootout between the Core I7 Mobos. I picked up MSI cos basic architecture of the MSI PRO is based on Eclipse which was stronger in the test :)
