Its posted before in TE I know, But it deserved seperate thread and *sticky* if possible.

Intel recently released the official Tjunction Max value for all 65nm and 45nm Core 2 processors at the Intel Developer Forum in Taipei.

Now time to edit RealTemp/CoreTemp/Everest settings.

80*C for the E6xxx series??? this would make the temp on my E6750 ..25*C ...lol which is highly unlikely in this bloody weather.

intel never recommended using DTS measurements for monitoring temperatures.

It was supposed to be very inaccurate at low temperatures.

hell this increases my temps by 5C, still dont know which is more accurate!!!... Now idling at 40C and maxing at 65C.....without any OC

Edit- Thanks Sidhu for posting this!

Though these are the official TJ max specs released by Intel ..at times i doubt if they are the true values.

with TJ max set at 90 my Q6600(G0 stepping) idles at 36 deg. while on 100 TJ max (real temp default) it was at 46 deg.

I get confused which one to follow for benchmarking/overclocking :P.. to be on the safer side Ive always kept the TJmax at 100 .(default).

The digital thermal sensor (DTS) accuracy is in the order of -5°C +10°C around 90°C ; it deteriorates to ±10°C at 50°C. The DTS temperature reading saturates at some temperature below 50°C. Any DTS reading below 50°C should be considered to indicate only a temperature below 50°C and not a specific temperature. External thermal sensor with “BJT” model is required to read thermal diode temperature.

Something doesn't feel so right. :S
Tjmax in Realtemp was 100 by default.
My chip at stock idled in the late 30s and early 40s. :P
Everest said it's 90C.
Reset Tjmax and temps dropped by 10C- obviously.
Wakaw!! :hap2:
Now this says 80C for E6xxx?? :O
I doubt my cpu cores truly idle at 17C-19C odd when the ambient is 30C+ mostly and the HDD is at 42.

nice, I though its 95c for my E8400! :). I will OC more then :D.
A shift from 95C (what you assumed and were using mostly) to 100C for Tjmax will mean your actual temps are higher than what was indicated earlier. :P
