Corsair launches 450W HX-series modular power supply

Corsair has today unveiled a new addition to its performance-orientated HX-series power supplies in the form of the HX450.

The unit, pictured below, slots into Corsair's professional series below the existing HX1000, HX620 and HX520.

Measuring in at 150mm x 86mm x 150mm, the Corsair HX450 offers the HX-series features that you'd come to expect - including flat modular cables and a super-quiet 120mm double ball-bearing fan that'll adjust its RPM in accordance to to temperature.

It'll offer up to 85 per cent efficiency and guarantees continuous power output at 50°C. In addition to a MTBF of 100,000 hours, it's backed by Corsair's seven-year warranty, and looks a solid solution for those who aren't planning multi-GPU systems.

No word on pricing just yet, but expect availability and a complete specification soon.

7 year warranty for an already good psu- wow. :)
If other HX models such as 520/620 also have 7yr warranty now, makes them even more worthwhile an investment. :drool2:

Do older owners of HX series get upgraded to the 7yr warranty scheme too? :gap:

Update: Just checked all models on the Corsair site- still shows 5yr warranty.
'7' maybe a typo? :(

CX400 specs look great. :O

dude by no meanz u r gonna use tht psu for 7yrs:bleh: . we are yet to know the prices. vx450 roxx tho:hap2: . i bought it recently too.;)

^ Errr ur call to get a modular PSU. Not worthy if you already have VX450.... all the installations etc duh..

i would anyday prefer the ease of cable management wiht a modular psu to a non modular.

just that till now there was no psu in this budget which was modular..(hope they don't price it weirdly)

7 yrs. warrant GREAT .................
n now CORSAIR goes BLUE with HX450.....only other is 1000HX (its just colour of logo which does not matters )

i think HX450 will be more pricy than 450VX ...............n also it will take much time for it to enter INDIAN market .........like 520HX

INDIAN market does not have 520HX n 550VX avaiable...........
i was very despirate to buy one of those.....n other modles are 620W+
so had to go with 450VX .......its GREAT PSU though:P
