My 1st RAM overclock Result

I decided to overclock my RAM 1st before my processor. So, as the topic says I changed to 'Unlinked Mode' and overclocked my Corsair Value Select 667 MHz RAM to 800 MHz on auto voltage (1.83V) 1st. But then I thought lets try lowering voltage to 1.8V and its running stable for 1 hr now on Memtest86. Is this normal? I've read on some other forums where people were running their 667 MHz RAMs at 1.9V.

Some questions to you'll:

1. May sound like a stupid question, are both my RAMs overclocked right now or only the one in the primary RAM slot?

2. If I raise it above 800 MHz, it gives me 'Reset RAM frequency error'. Any solution so that I can raise it above 800 MHz without getting that error?

3. Since I have 2 RAMs will I have to change 2nd RAM to primary RAM slot to test 2nd RAM or is Memtest86 checking both RAMs right now? hmm...?

My specs:

Motherboard: XFX nVIDIA 650i Ultra

Graphic Card: Galaxy 8800 GTS 320MB

Memory: Corsair Value Select 2x1 GB

Both rams are running at same speed. not tht only one is overclocked and one is not. are you running in dual channel mode??...check thru cpu-z in memory tabs.

thts great oc on stock volts. for more ocing increase the volts. u can move upto 2.1-2.2v and check max u can do. then reduce the volts and check the best u get outta tht much volts.

My motherboard doesn't allow above 2.1V :( but anyways I'll try!

Right now can't check if its running in dual channel mode since Memtest is running but I'll check after 5 hrs or so, so that I am sure that atleast this overclock is stable.

But actually voltage shouldn't be the problem in my case since when I tried to raise it above 800 MHz voltage was on Auto (which I am guessing raises voltage to the required? Correct me if I am wrong)

I've not oc'ed on a 650i Ultra, but my Corsair VS modules did do 800 MHz @ 1.8v , 5,5,5,15 ... i ran it 24x7 on those speeds .. the max oc i tested on those modules at default 1.8v is ~830 MHz with timings set to auto ..

Weird problem: If I change frequency to above 799 MHz it gives me 'Reset Frequency in CMOS' error :( I even tried increasing voltage from 1.8 to 1.9 and it still wouldn't boot. So voltage isn't the problem because if it is running at 1.8V at 799 MHz then it should not require much more to run at 820-830 MHz. Have I reached my max overclock limit?
