Hey guys,
I've got a big problem here. I bought a Corsair VX 450 just 15 days back, and now the mobo power is no longer coming on. So I returned it for RMA to the dealer 2 days back and today he calls me telling me that the Corsair RMA centre didn't accept the PSU as they claim that its opened and hence warranty cannot be availed. :@

This is so frustrating and its just 15 days old and why the hell will I open the PSU to void the warranty on it? I've never even touched the opening screw as well.

What am I supposed to do now? How should I proceed? :(

Ask the dealer to deal with it. Did he check the psu in front of you before sending it for rma?

Nope he didnt check the PSU. He didnt even open the box when I returned the PSU.

Now on call he says that he sent it to RMA as it was given by me, and some lady in the centre claims that it's 100% opened and warranty is void.

He says that his staff is taking it back to his shop and then he'll call me after seeing it. :@

No I didnt check the PSU on another System but my generic PSU is working fine with my system. But how can they claim that it's opened when I've not even touched it?

You should never trust dealers on RMA it seems they have a specified lot and even in your PSU might have been changed they are trying t give you someone else's get your PSU from the dealer check the serial number if its the same as you bought go to the service center yourself and get it done. Normally corsair has a good reputation for RMA.

Yes,I haven't had any problems with them till date
I use a VX450 myself, the one that i brought first was a DOA which is really really rare with corsair PSU's but when i went to get it checked i received an instant replacement and plus they got the new one checked in front of me :hap2:

So,the dealer is in fault here

What a pain this is turning out to be. I'll check the Serial # as its written on the bill and see if the guy is playing around. I'll get it from him and goto the RMA centre on my own.

I thought the process will actually be faster and smoother if I go through the dealer, but this is turning out to be very very frustrating. :@

UPDATE :

Just talked to the dealer on phone, he says they requested and have submitted the PSU at the RMA Centre and will get to know if the PSU will be replaced or not on Monday. He says that mostly it would be replaced.

He made me talk to his staff who took it to the RMA centre and the guy insists that it was opened by me, and at the RMA centre they showed him the marks of screw driver being used on the opening screw.

I got no idea wth is going on. I'm 200% sure I've not touched the opening screw. I hope it gets replaced somehow, otherwise my 4k is wasted :(

this is pretty pathetic
looks like dealer might have swapped it or some crook service centre guy
hope u get a good resolution with this, keep us updated

all assuming u have not fiddled with it :bleh:

lol...:bleh:
While taking the PSU I was considering Seasonic 430 as well as Corsair 450, and the only reason I opted for Corsair was the 5 year warranty. Why will I fiddle with it to void the warranty that too of 5 years for a product that's only 15 days old?

Also, its clearly written on the seal, 'Warranty Void if seal broken', so there's no way I would do something as ridiculous as opening it.

UPDATE:

Hey guys, finally the PSU is replaced. Today I collected the new one from the dealer. Thank god!

But, the power cord in the box doesn't seem to be for India. It has got square shaped plug connector. Anyway it doesn't matter as I'm using the cable that came with my UPS.
