Courier Service Feedback

Nice work with all those links ... but the links for SpeedPost, Pafex, Elbee, AFL Courier, Express IT and Professional are already broken .. try it ! (or their websites have crashed after so much traffic :p)

The main reason why I posted here is that I will be ordering thru TheITDepot.comm and they use SpeedPost, DTDC and Professional couriers...

Which one do you guys recommend for IT related stuff ? tbh, I havent even heard of Professional couriers...

Cheers

@Bennie , thanks for pointing that out, i have fixed the links.

For IT stuffs generally dtdc and bluedart are preferred

I want to ship a mobile phone worth 15K (weighing around 450gms), which courier can give reliable service at reasonable price? Also, what will be the appx charge?

I have used DTDC (normal) every time before but now looking for alternative.

From my experience, DTDC Plus with insurance is the most VFM option

^ why so dtdc is good and their web tracking service is very helpful
I have used them many a times but still do not feel they are reliable, a packet sent some time back from bangalore to mumbai (kalyan) took 8 days to reach and even then the recipient had to go to their office early morning and pick it up, according to the tracker it reached the destination office the very next day.

Does booking with Insurance makes any practical sense? Has anyone really been able to claim insurance money from them in case of a mishap?

TNT without insurance rocks baby :)

How much will they charge?

Also, how much would bluedart charge? How about Aramex?

^ Insurance does make sense. It is a legal proof and they cannot back away later. If you don't have insurance, it is a bigger pain, since they aren't really entitled to give you anything. Shipping via Plus is recommended because of their 1 day or money back policy. If they don't ship on time, DTDC returns the money, but the involved team gets negative points. Not a good place to be in considering the competitive job market.

Aramex charges around 120 for a 500 gram packet, without insurance. This is for a metro to metro delivery. Not sure about non-metro charges. Their service is pretty random.

Bluedart is the best of the lot, but also the costliest. Normally a 500 gram packet should go for 280, however when they hear the word 'electronics', the cost goes upto 2200.

That is the biggest problem! I find it really strange, why should courier be bothered about what is that you are sending (in terms of money charged)??

Guys how is the DTDC surface service, is it safe and reliable for shipping Cabinets, LCD monitor. And which cheap and safe courier service would you recommend for shipping packages with weight in the range of 6-10kgs.

I purchased Philips Iron from yebhi.com on 23/10/2011. Still not received the product. yebhi shipped the product via Quantium Normal( never heard about them before). Cant find any update from last 2 days at their site. Even I cant find any local contact no of the courier service here in kolkata. Pathetic.. :(

DTDC Plus/ Blue with insurance is the best VFM. But they do not service most pincodes. Next option is Overnite Express.A bit costlier than DTDC. But they do deliver to most pincodes. Item is safe with insurance. Not as quick as DTDC. I have not tried TNT or Blue dart. Any info on them would be useful. I asked blue dart for a phone worth Rs15,000. They quoted Rs2,500 at owner`s risk. I told them to do one. How do you guys ship via blue dart? It`s so expensive. Is TNT safe? They also said shipping at owner`s risk, though their charges were ok.

ARAMEX - is a unprofessional and unethical company, I am still to receive a package shipped on 4th Nov. Whenever I contact them they say we don't have direct service we deliver via third party so it will take time. And now after quite a few email and phone calls this idiots updated the status to "Attempted Delivery - No One Home" when I was always available at home.

This is plain cheating to avoid/hide their incompetence to deliver the package, I don't know why companies like letsbuy are still sticking with Aramex, even DTDC service seems to be better then them.

Aramex is the most pathetic courier service ever they have taken the highest amount of time to deliver from mumbai to goa - 8 days(mind it that it reachd goa in 3 days) , even professional courier were able to beat the no of days taken (5 days ) else usually goa to mumbai its overnight transport of courier at max 2 days.

How is blazeflash courier, i am trying to tracking a shipment of mine, but yesterday it was prompting error and today the site is down :(

I know we have discussed this earlier, but what is a better option to ship to North East? I want to send a phone to Arunachal Pradesh and the options I have are DTDC with insurance and Bluedart.

^ you can try DTDC, i bought many stuffs from TE and other forums and also from various shopping sites. 95% of them are shipped by DTDC. I have no problem with that.

In your case, you can choose DTDC
