Somebody please lock this thread
You have the option to unwatch this thread, why not opt for that ?
Why you have to force others out of their opinions or option to read, understand, discuss and learn (even from their failures) ?
Since you can't or don't like / have capability to listen to other's opinions, you want to stop others having opinions ?
Strange world.

I guess it's too much to expect, because the evolutionary instinct to protect turf supersedes our propensity to engage in pursuit of truth, when faced with opposing ideas. The more well read or competent someone is in one field of study (e.g. medicine) - the more blind they often tend to be to the fact that humility and respecting interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the world is the way forward.

Reductionist science is already bursting at its seams in the absence of interdisciplinary communication. This is most visible in how the pharmaceutical industry-regulator complex establishment decides everything and also has a stranglehold on media that "decides" what is an "acceptable opinion" for the masses. This nexus has stifled most of the debate by labelling non-confirming views as conspiracy theories (not unlike the times of Galileo) and the faithful continue to march in line. It also reflects in the tendency of intelligent and otherwise competent individuals to resort to attacking people personally instead of their non-conformist ideas.

Yeah, Covid19 caused more death percentage-wise than how black death decimated entire population denominations.
With the "pandemic" ending in about 2 years due to vaccines rather than over 6 years of black death; and thousands of times better health care facilities than the black death days - yeah that's right.

@kiran6680 Black plague was almost certain death and spread extremely fast. Covid19 spread fast but mortality rate as per statistics were ~1%-2% ?
That in one year. If there were no vaccine, over the years there would be many infections. That after oxygen support and antivirals to many patients. That too with no further mutations. If there were no relief from vaccines, doctors/nurses would have started dying off/running away. Supply chains would have got much more strained so people would have died from hunger or other supply issues. During black death, many people were much more capable of growing/foraging/catching/slaughtering their own food. Today a huge majority are clueless.

Vaccines when they came, by coming, gave an impression to people that the problem was much smaller than it was.

Here is an comparison of deadliest infections historically, note that world population those times were much lower:

Yup, if ever the wonders of a vaccine in just over a year were in doubt.

I've already posted about this elsewhere. The censoring was done at the behest of the military. Legacy media's hold on people is reducing when gen z get 70% of their news from social media. Well that was covered as well. And given further demographic changes will result in even more of this censoring.

Black plague death rate is around 40%, Covid19 is around 1%-2%. Even if vaccine does not exist, Covid19 have low death rate.
Most people recover from Covid19 almost fine, but bad effects of black plaque is seriously debilitating.
Not dissing vaccine here which is an absolute real need, but these are realities.

Only that, considering we are now in 2024, if there are some side effects of vaccine, that needs to be addressed. More research is needed which can assuage better treatment outcomes.

40% population of those times in absolute numbers wouldn't even be 1% of current times population so the comparison is pointless.
That does not negate the fact the death rate of Covid19 is ~1-2%, that too including older generation.
It is not about numbers game, its about percentage anyways.
As for quarantine, yeah, the initial days in northern regions where hapless miserable people were walking on the streets to reach their villages in derelict conditions, funerals pyres on the public roads, buried bodies coming out on river banks, etc. are not that convincing.
Infinite loop
Yeah, same... /s Giving psuedo artificial impression that Covid19 is as lethal as Black plague.

Again, the main link posted is not about effectiveness or lack there-of concerning vaccine, but side effects of vaccine studied on certain group of vulnerable people where negative health effects are recorded. Don't know why to distract from the core point of research and article which should be primary concern for anyone with commonsense.
More studies should be there on general populace which can help overall health of people.

Lot of deliberate ignorance going on here. Recent paper published on vaccine misinformation/confusion.

In vaccination decisions, this would mean overweighting the typically low probabilities of side effects and underweighting the typically high probabilities of benefits of a vaccine

A comparison of the proportions of decisions with different levels of deliberate ignorance across the three participant groups showed that anti-vaccination participants ignored information to a larger extent than neutral (Δ = −1.03, 95% HDI: [−1.56, −0.51]) or pro-vaccination participants

overall, the impact of small probabilities of side effects on vaccination decisions was higher than warranted based on their objective value; the impact of high probabilities of protection was smaller than warranted based on their objective value.
