Cowon ships S9 PMP to US soil - Engadget

As of today, the luscious S9 PMP is off to America, bringing with it a 3.3-inch AMOLED display (480 x 272), 500MHz processor, capacitive touchscreen operation, Bluetooth 2.0 (for stereo headphones), a battery good for 11 hours of video (55 hours for audio), BBE+ sound enhancements, inbuilt microphone, line-in recording and enough codec support to make a grown man weep for joy <<<:rofl:. Codec support/touch/BT 2.0,decent price (retail price hopefully lower). Now lets see how the reviews fare ;)
 
its launching in india too. btw cowon india is selling their pmp's for 1-2k lower than the dealers.

saw the a3 selling for 22.5k. most dealers are quoting around 25k for the same.
 
how much it cost here??

plus it says its not pmp??wht does that mean..on cnet?

ALso does it has external speaker?

Too exp man. KMD will be much much cheaper.

Otherwise also, India pricing for the Cowon PMPs has typically been pretty horrible over here. I think KMD will come out cheaper. Depends on how much they price it for in India of course :)
 
Hoping that the review of S9 are good.

I have been waiting for some good touch interface music player wanted to buy Iphone(got every feature in one thing) but it is just too damn expensive.

Already have Cowon A3, so if at all i buy S9 then would sell A3.

It's weight is half of that of Ipod Touch only drawback as compared to Ipod Touch may be no apple apps like feature in the S9.

Overall its UI is quite good as seen in the preview video.

Sound quality of Cowon beats the daylight of Apple Ipod so I hope this player sells in big numbers.
 
What's "iTouch" no such thing :P

Actually the iPod Touch is evil with all its lockdown and lack of (codec etc) choice :D

But I bought it anyway because the interface is unbeatably super smooth and responsive... very fast/slick. Plus I just loved the touch web browsing experience on its small screen... not sure if the S9 has web...

The Cowon video clearly shows very laggy/jerky UI especially sliding/scrolling/coverflow actions... big downer. Of course the media player (additional formats) part itself may be the main selling point...
