CPU/Mobo CPU constant at 100% while playing NFS:UNDERCOVER.. Bottleneck?

Yep.. throughout the game, the CPU is stuck at 100% (i was constantly monitoring LCD on my G15 keyboard), my pc got X2 4200+ AM2 @ 2.2Ghz proc. does this game require more cores or is this proc bottleknocking GPU?

i get same framerates at 800x600 , 1440x900 , 1680x1050... infact more framerates at 1680x1050 with AA off!! is this CPU restricting GPU for unleashing the full power of it? :S

At cutscenes, it comes down to 98-99% not less than 98%
 
hmm.. i havent tried this game yet.. but i had similar problem with several other games in past.. i tied both E8400 and the Q6600 while playing Juiced 2.. Fable... Quak 4 .. and my CPU speed was always stuck at 100% in VISTA.. while in XP it was normal.. maybe its a vista issue.. i dint try any patches of any till now.. so cant say if patches fix these issues..

if anyone else got any idea why its happening?? please do post.. its been bothering me as well
 
Nope its not an issue ,
100% cpu usage while gaming is a vista sp1 (especially 32 bit) issue.As long as ur getting "LAG" free gaming its perfectly fine.

for Current GPUs it is recomend to have a 2.4ghz or more dual/quad processor to utilize their full potential.
 
Well i am playing in XP SP3... i OC my proc from 200FSB to 220FSB and the smodhness was amazing!! @ 2.4Ghz - 1.425 Vcore , i could see more than 10% rise in FPS :O should i buy a tricore or a quad core now?
 
i think i should keep the OC settings @ 2.4Ghz.. its playable at 1680x1050 resolution.. it cant go beyond 2.4Ghz... any help in OC settings?

Maybe you need Phenom UR420 processor. :D
This is a joke- there is no such processor available- yet.

Not a bottle, the bottle. * sigh * he was such a nice boy growing up, and then he ran off and got moderator status.:P
 
sad i have same problem at vista user while full max loading at gpu and cpu at same setting 1600x1200 where i enabled 6 aa may be bug issue at this games due to vista

may should i wait for hot fix patch update soon
 
I don't see how it bothers you unless there is a loss in performance or stuttering or it causes some instability to your OC ?
 
I also have the same problem while playing COD 5. CPU constant at 100%. I have read in other forusm its because of either virus or OS. I dont have any virus so its because of OS.

I am planning to change my OS to Mac. I am on a new mission to make my PC @Hackintosh@.
