there are a lot of ppl who have had complaints about their biostar boards getting flexed/bent due to aftermarket coolers.

even the abit has its fair share of complaints btw.. what with double boot issue and the lack of bios profiles.

the abit has always been for 5.4k. so nope it aint overpriced. if you can spend that lil bit extra, why not get the msi p45 for around 6.5k?

i am up for any p35 board.. provided the build quality is good, has not stability issues... (cant compromise on these factors)

i will use xp primarily but would be dual booted with vista for occasional usage...

so suggest a mobo vendor under 6k.. that is the max i can go...

The bend i mention and u mention due to after market coolers using backplate is different.
Backplate distibute weight and tension of cooler evenly.
While stock cooler relies on pcb directly for the tension required for firm fit on the proccy.
And do Asus and MSI fare any better?
I have not used any from those 2 brands for sometime now.
If you want to see some whacko flex on biostar vs Abit with Q6600 stock cooler, be here by today noon as the stuff leaves in the evening. :P

lost the connection here due to busy work schedules... now i am selling current config and buying a 7200 + mobo

seen a lot of confusion for quality standards of pcb and board raised by fellow members..

once again i would narrate my reqd.... and see if you could point me to my next purchase...

1. 24x7, stability rock solid
2. less or no overclock as will run for 24x7
3. feature rich, not high end though
(4/6usb backside, 5.1+ sound, esata MUST, onboard video)
4. low heat and noise, will also use as a htpc...
5. budget 5k max

regards
neo

dude get the abit ip35-e best p35 board overclocks well even I got that board u wont regret dont get biostar board the build quality is not upto the mark as bikey said and for proccy get e7200 and overclock it to 3.0 or even 2.8 is sufficient for gaming and day to day use.

only problem is that it does not have esata.... rest all are fine... and i can take the pro version coz too costly...

any other alternative... dont want biostar and any other which have poor build quality and stability issues... gonna keep the system ON for 12 hrs minimum every day.... it would be great if the mobo is quiet (fan i mean) and generate less heat...
