Oops didnt know you can connect 2 peripherals to one IDE port. Was a n00b back in IDE days.vip said:most mobo today have 1 IDE(2 peripherals) so u can only opt for cpu+mobo+ram...
and also upgrade ur Psu at least fsp saga II 350W
jerryelvis said:thanks guys.. will go with Darkangel's suggestion.
if the processor is *AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition* can i use the same mobo mentioned above ?
P.S - this rig for my parents mostly used for internet , movies and occasional gaming .
DarkAngel said:555BE is not needed for your kind of usage. Athlon's are much better for your usage IMO. Go for a dual or tri-core Athlon. Since you dont upgrade for even 6+ years you might also go with the Quad AthlonII X4 640 ~ 4.6k.
Yes, more the cores more the future proof. Most s/w are well optmized for dual cores and few for quads. Increasing almost all apps will be well optimized for quads in couple of years. Even if the apps u use are not optimized for a quad u can always do multi tasking better.jerryelvis said:^ what i understand is more the core the more it's future proof? correct me if i'm wrong.

They update it once every 4-5 days
Extreme Power Plus series is cr@p. It says 600w but cant deliver even 450 of stable power. Go for a Corsair VX450/550 or a CM Real Power 460.jerryelvis said:I'm thinking abt buying a el-cheapo 450w PSU. I wud be overhauling my rig in near future(i believe so), at the time would be changing my current PSU - *Cooler master eXtreme Power Plus 650W* to this new rig.
what's do you think abt this?
Asus M4A78LT-M LE - Supports DVI-D with HDCP compliant with max. resolution 2560x1600(@ 60Hz )
