Looking to Upgrade my PC for home media with data redunduncy and nas
Current Specs
Amd FX6300
8 GB Kingston Hyperx DDR3 Ram
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3
Cooler master Hyper 620 cooler
120 GB WD green boot drive
2 tb wd Black
Cooler master case
Nvidia GT 730

Looking to add
Samsung 970 250gb Boot drive
2*2tb WD blue in raid-1 for data safety

Any suggestions are welcome

Normally but not solely relying on the lone raid mirrored disk. You have to soon replace the bad disk with a fresh ones for raid to continue further.

I am trying to prevent having multiple copies/ versions of same file, right now i take backups on my Ext 4tb HDD time to time but its cumbersome and there is too much data duplication.
once the upgrade will copy the entire hdd once a month as a backup.
this will possibly reduce duplication and multiple versions of same files, any thoughts on this ?
