And the mobos will cost an arm and the leg. How about making Creative Soundblaster a norm in all their lineup ....

I got an Audigy 2 ZS and an SB live DE 5.1 in 2 of my rigs.....the onboard schmuck doesn't even compare.......even if it is C

Unless the chip is on a riser card, putting in a better chip doesn't make much sense. There's just too much electrical interference on the mobo to actually use the full capabilities of the EMU10K.3

you're right....And I am planning an aud 2 platinum after the Xfi causes a price fall....
so to all the guys waiting for onboard...

Audigy 2 zs platinum is a waste of money. Get an X-Fi xtreme music instead.

what and the Xfi won't be?? what'll it cost btw...the xfi music i mean (the model u mentioned)....and I mentioned the aud 2 ZS platinum, not the ordinary ZS which i already have (chk rigs)....

ZS platinum is nothing more than a normal zs + live drive. There are much better non creative options for 150-200$.

OK pal now u got me really interested....what card could I pick up for a price of say 10K (soundcard)......and I use it for -
1. music (I will be using the logy Z5500D/Z5300 on this card any 1 could swap...
2. games
3. DVD encoding...

lemme know if u can get prices too....much appreciated :)
