Seems like my EP630s have crapped out , i can barely hear anything from the right bud (and yes, have checked the equalizer, the settings are fine) . Have tried the earphones in different jacks, and still the same problem. My VS4121s seem fine , so its a problem specific to the 630s. Any idea where i have to get em rmad ? any place here in navi mumbai ?
 
Dude, i have 3 freaking EP-630s with exactly the same problem!

All have the treble part of the right plug dead.

If you can get any info on how to get them replaced, pls send it to me too.
 
u can fix the problem yourself.. just remove the mesh with a sharp knife, clean the wax from the innards.. then pop the mesh back..

i tried it with my ep's and theyre perfect now.. only thing is the mesh looks a bit screwed up..

EDIT: WOW! It worked! All my 3 EPs are working again! Yahoo!!!!!

You really deserve reps from me for saving me 2.4k!
 
and dont worry abt screwing up the silver mesh..take it off, clean wax frm innards(take care not to disturb inner driver) and then also clean the mesh thoroughly before popping it back on..

crumpling up the mesh makes no difference to the sound...

i used a swiss knife to remove the mesh,
 
What I did is with this screwdriver bit, just pressed down in the middle of the mesh and voila! it worked on all three of them!

i had a similar problem ...actually the volume in one of the ear bud had come down to almost 20-30 % so i gave it for RMA at cyber star infocom via Prime ABGB. withsome great help from XT and Bikey..

there were a few problems in the RMA procedure as i didnt get the bill and the guys couldnt find the serial number on their database...so they were not accepting it for RMA.

but then with some help from gaurav ,from whom i had got the 630's i am getting it replaced in a few days if everything works out well :)

PS: Cyber Star Infocom service centre is in lamington road.

mine's also from cyberstar , where is the centre btw ? are u gonna go there within the next few days ? can get it to u , coz i hav no idea when ill be going to lammy. Have the original bill .
 
cyberstar's service centre is near dreamland theatre. (old buildings and all )

i was almost lost finding Prime @ lammy and then XT came to the rescue ..:)

^^ yeah i will be going there when my new ep-630(RMA'ed )will be available

right now ep-630's are outta stock at cyberstar ..

i think it will take max 7-10 days...

if u want you can meet me in nerul itself and i will take your defective piece which i guess is under warranty for RMA..:)
 
glad to know it worked kumar, anyone who has the issue of lower volume in any of the earbuds , try doing what i said and it will definitely work...

i have the stock ear buds which came with ma ipod shuffle i also have the same

problem i am barely able to hear from the left side will this procedure work for me

Dude, not all earphones are damages by ear wax. I think some people will check if there are ear waxes sticking out of the mesh. Besides I wouldnt be suprised if that removing mesh would void the warranty.

this trick wont work for stock apple ear phones .as they are not in ear headphones..and no problems regarding ear wax with those..

i suggest you to invest in a better headphone like ep-630.

anyways apple stock headphones are crap..mine one ear piece went bad in 6-7 months..and now i just dont have any headphones..waiting for ep-630 to be back.

gauravt helped me out in the RMA and so did a guy from cyberstar(gaurav's contact) and Prime ABGB. thankful to all of them..as they saved my 2-3 trips to lamington .
 
what a hard luck ! i ordered it last year on 30th DEC. from Saiyan's GO. Warranty period was 1 year. So I talked to cyberstar guy. He cant replace it now. As warranty period is now over.
