I have onboard Ac97 audeo (creative 4.1 inspire),,does it worth to go for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE sound card..my major activities are gaming,dvd watching ,,offcourse music :ohyeah:
 
audigy SE or audigy 2 SE?

the former offers only a slight improvement in audio quality . The latter has 96/24 support at least.

can we have a link/pix of what you intend to buy ?
 
Hey,

For the Creative Inspire 4.1, Sound Blaster Audigy2 Value would suffice all ur needs be it gaming or anything. Difference between the audigy series won't be noticeable unless u go for a high end speakers or a X-Fi. :)

I find this in Creative india site.What will be the current market price??
 
a dealer once quoted 1.7k for an audigy value. maybe this was what he had in mind :)

the newegg link has a box which claims 24 bit and 7.1. now I'm confused :S

card in newegg link is SB audigy SE 7.1 -"SB0570"
SB audigy value 7.1 sold in INDIA is also- "SB0570"

so both SB audigy SE 7.1 on newegg & SB audigy value 7.1 in INDIAN market are same products.

so u are better off in getting it locally.Its available in delhi for 1.3k

as for SB AUDIGY 2 VALUE in Creative india site,its no more available..

difference between SB audigy value & SB audigy value 2 is that latter has hardware acceleration for directsound & EAX4
 
The Audigy2 has a brighter and more detailed sound, the stereo field is much wider than that of the Audigy. The bass part is deeper and richer. The highs are clearer and more transparent. But the major bottleneck is the speaker quality.

So, these differences are hardly noticeable in Creative 4.1. So, don't give a damn. Just go for Audigy 24 bit(would cost 1600).:ohyeah:

do u suggest that I will not be able to see the difference SB audigy value & SB audigy value 2 due to my current speaker(creative inspire 4.1) and SB audigy value will do much better job thn my current onboard ac97
 
the DSP in the audigy2 value , while superb for games, actually ruins the sound :P You'll have to disable pretty much everything to bypass it, which is equivalent to getting the audigy value :P

since you have surround speakers, and are interested in gaming, the DSP makes more sense then :)

but as per you audigy2 value is not available in india
