DEMO DELAYED TILL OCT 26th

people who have pre-ordered via EALink and Downloaded the demo (weighs 1.8GB) have complained of BETA-like performance (25-30fps) and numerous issues including frequent crashes.

well done EA and Crytek. way to screw all the gamers right where it hurts!

30fps is actually very decent with full settings on cards that are a year old like 8800gts etc.
 
8800GTX performance, sir. in Sandbox mode (only way to actually play it), the FPS is 8-17fps. regardless, this is not from personal experience and I am just going by forum posts. let's see when these retards [Crytek] actually take their head out of their asses and give a god damn proper release date and time!
 
^^ its under dx9.0c mode i think .. plus ... where are the so called optimizations ?? Lol ... infact i remember year old videos where developer stated it'd run at these settings on a X1900XTX or a 7800GTX :O ... ea + crytek pron .. keep ur hands off !!!

Its a BETA what can u expect from the game play
come to think of it the people who test these game are given a very high end computer most of the time they always test these games on SLI or Corssfire.
So everything looks good and everything plays good.
The reason they put in the minimum requirement is because there are some components that usually are present in old hardware like SM3 or something like that. All they do is just check the game that its running or not thats all they don't even bother to play test the game like the base built that they receive.
Its actually not an easy job of developing games on a PC since there are million of issues that arrise due to daily hardware changes and drivers.
Its simple for console since there is a limitation for everything on console and don't have to change anything to see if it works on the different console.
Only some logic change has to be done for different consoles.
I can go on forever if u want but i think blaming crytek or EA wont make any difference since its the BETA that they launched

Crysis Singleplayer Demo

The demo is going to be released officially on Friday, October 26th at 1:00PM (GMT+1). It will be exclusively available for those who pre-ordered Crysis for about 24hours via the EA downloader. On Saturday, October 27th at 1:00PM the demo will be put online for download an all public sites, so keep tracking your favourite fan site.

i'm not one of those lucky ppl who got to play beta soo this was a general statement.

You need to take it easy and stop being defensive in these situations... sometimes it comes across as arrogance. It was his opinion/perception, and he's allowed to have one ;)
 
the torrent is kind of useless because the demo requires activation.

yes.

demo .....requires..... activation.

i can't begin to express how stupid this concept seems to me.
