My friend in USA bough a digi-cam (7mp non-sli) for me.

How much should I valuate to clear the customs smoothly ?

make sure value of everything in the box + shipping doesnt cost more than 10k.

If he is just sending the camera, he can put it at 4k without any problem.

But the question is why spend $40+ for shipping a $140 cam??

@Anish - I dont know, but even my cousin said hes going to buy a 8mp sony cybershot + canon printer bundle for ~$190. Not sure where such deals are available.

Anish, u can get a 7 mp digicam evn here for around the same price ie. around 6k INR...the canon A550 is available for around the same price..

This link is just indicative, but u can get the same cam for more or less the same price in the local markets..

Should say somewhere between 0% till around 40%. % being directly proportional to your luck and whims and fancies of the customs people.
