I will have a mini impression here. The reason for these are, we being a Distributor/Dealer, should not engage giving people our opinion. This would not be ethically correct.
Impression:I wanted to get my impression from one of the best known guys. I also contacted an ENT Surgeon to help me sort out a good audiologist. More about this later.
The Anticipation and Wait: Most of us are in the habit of picking up things out of a counter. Getting these takes time. I was told (may be I was made to feel optimist) that it will take 15 days. We employed Fedex, to minimize delays. Meanwhile, I set out to do a small research as to what would be different between the dual and the triple drivers. My understanding was the dual BA has slightly more coloured sound than the Triples. I reached a decision (after some consultation) to have them molded for the triple drivers. I also found out that Original Livewires have now separated into two companies. Both however offer the same quality and same prices. (It may be possible, both of them now outsource it from the same people). There are no issues with the warranty.
It took more than 2 months to get them into my hands. I am sure it can be done faster and will be done faster when we actively start sending out orders. This is certainly not for someone who sends out a PM just after the payment. Also the pain involved in getting the mold ... is it all worth it?
Arrival: When they finally arrived I just wanted to insert them into my ears. I really didnt know how
. I couldnt figure out which one will fit which ear. I then suddenly remembered the red one was for the right and the blue one was for the left. I was given some choice of colour, with opaque to translucent to transparent. The IEM requisite slip also give you further choice of colours, red, blue, orange, black etc. There is also a brief justification behind them.
On close look I also found out the shells had my names printed on them! I was ecstatic, however the spelling was wrong 'GAUTHAM" instead of 'GAUTAM'. Wondering if the guy was sending the shipment to Batman! It was a mistake that I suddenly realised, I had marked my name as my initials. It is because Uncle calls me "GAUTHAM". (Not a issue for me as friends from Chennai call me by that name.) I learned a valuable lesson.... why it is important to fill up your first name. There was also some number below my name. I hope they can customise and print our telephone number. (Just in case it gets lost). I am sure that you will able to discern these from the images that I have sent you. I have also made an album with the link above.
----------more later ------ I will keep updating my impression---------------
Meanwhile if you have some questions feel free to ask.
Benny has already tried these in Singapore. He managed to shove the JVC Marshmallows foam tips and listen to them.
@Brendon: Nice one!
@Faheem: Sure will look forward to your visit.
